Is the game bugfree or better to wait for a patch?
I've bought today the Standard edition. I liked a lot PoE1 and 2 and the Eora setting.

For gamers who have played already the game: Is Avowed solid enough to play or does it have annoying bugs that encourage waiting unitl patch releases?

Thanks in advance :brothersword: :brothersword::brothersword:

Game has crashed on me a few times and I'm just coming back from the first BSOD I've seen in a long time from a CTD at load screen.

I've only seen one review mention it (Luke Stephens) but he said that he had several major bugs.

Like in one instance losing 4-5 hours of progress.

Quests not completing properly.

Bodies you need to loot for quests disappearing before you can loot them.

Saves being corrupted.

Wait awhile.

Yeah, the day 1 patch will be useful. I've had 2-3 crashes on a couple years old laptop. No big quest bugs so far here, but still in the early stuff myself.

Definitely wait for a patch or two. If you've played The Outer Worlds, a lot of the rough edges from that game are still present here, except now with UE5 nonsense. The upscaling implementation is also bugged.

It ...

a) has a known issue of the game freezing when loading shaders - worse if you're using DLSS and swap to the newest DLSS DLL for the better visuals, and...

b) if using a nvidia card, DLSS turns itself on silently when you restart the game without actually updating the menu. You have to turn scaling on then back off every time you restart the game if you want to play without it.

To its benefit, shader stutter is minimal-to-nonexistent (at least on a 4070 Super Ti and 9800X3D,) and it maintains a solid 55+ FPS with raytracing (and everything else) maxed out at native resolution which is respectable. I've personally had one freeze so far in the tutorial island when shooting down the fire pot. I wasn't able to reproduce it.

I expect a 'day one' patch on the game's official release date to address some of the bigger issues so at minimum, I'd say wait for that.

Why did you lost 5 hours of progress? Because you didn't save the game during that time or because your savegames got corrupted?

Ah. sorry.
I thought the game was more stable. Then, I'll wait for a little.
Thanks for your fast answers :)

Other reviews didn't seem to mention it from what I heard. It could be they are leaving that information out, or it could be that not everyone had these issues. But the fact at least one reviewer did is enough to give me pause.

Lost all of my 13 hours of progress cause every single save vanished.
Haven't had a single bug and it runds at a rock solid 60 at 1440P on a 3060. Performansvise my only complaint is that the shader compilation takes forever.
Murrnation 18. feb. kl. 17:10
It's very poorly optimized on PC. It's not taxing at all on my 4070 GPU but takes my i7-8700K CPU to nearly 100 percent, if not 100 percent despite basically any settings. Really disappointing.
