Incorporating diversity is not just beneficial - it's essential
By portraying a range of inclusion, games can reflect real-world diversity and help players feel included and represented. This representation not only fosters empathy and understanding but also allows for more nuanced storytelling and character development. Furthermore, diverse representation can challenge stereotypes and promote inclusivity within the gaming community. Ultimately, embracing diversity in games leads to a more enriching and empowering gaming experience for all players and im thankful for the devs to be concerned about it.

This approach actually fosters division and siege mentality, hence why it is so contentious everywhere.

Ok, I just told another dumb poster he shouldn't complaint about everything being "DEI" just because it has a pronoun option or gay characters or whatever. Now, on the other hand, you're just as annoying. STFU as well and let a good game be a good game. If it's not, then it will fail on that alone.

I work in HR, i specialised in diversity and inclusion, there has never been a documented case of diversity increasing profit or the product.

Yeah but not when the game sucks

In the early days of America, diversity boosted the entire nation's GDP...so you are wrong.

They can complain all they want and pretend it's just about them not wanting to see it, but weirdly go far out of their way to harass indie games that they would never look at twice except they want to attack them.

We all deserve voices, cover a nipple and they cry censorship but they sure love trying to censor minorities and tell us it's our fault for speaking up and being seen like we are in some abusive relationship.

I have seen them argue it, "ruin" a game they like (not that it has bad writing or the suits mandated iffy choices but because a queer person or a woman or someone not white is in it) and we "pushed" them into being bad people.

They don't want the truth they want scapegoats for all the ♥♥♥♥ wrong with the world and they will blame anyone but the people with real power and no one makes better scapegoats then minorities, we are already outnumbered.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk vent :ctesiphus:

I commend you for trying. But the game is not optimised. FSR is not working, Turning off upscalling is not also working. This is not BG3.

Including diversity does not equate to technical knowledge and game development to design and produce a working and enjoyable game.

BG3 has done well not because of only diversity but because of a game well made to be enjoyed by all.

As I am seeing it Avowed has not. Weather they include diversity or not, based on the report of fatal errors and crashes, I included, it is slowly becoming an un-optimised game.

I only shudder to envision what will be when the masses get their hands on it and report more crashes. Lets hope they release a day one patch and patch it. Even after that, I am not sure what it will become. But it is looking like it may be slowly walking on broken legs towards mixed or negative reviews.

All i wanted to do was cast spells in the heat of combat and experience being a mage, with those good animations.

Diversity? You mean europeans with more or less shared cultural values and religion?

Do you have any proofs of that?

Nope, immigrant labour force to cover vast expanses of land did. Diversity actually made it more complicated, as you needed to navigate a lot of different groups that were often at odds with each other.

Yes, that diversity. That was the good one.

Seems to me its inclusive (modern RL diversity issues have no place in this fictional world) you can create any race that exists within the world as you want... unless you can't.
