Review by Luke Stephens - This is not looking good
Review can be found on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWrDkijow48&t=469s

He talks about the game being broken in several places, with quests bugging out, savestates corrupting, the entering of new areas leading to instant game crashes - and he could reproduce that on both, PC AND X-Box.

I guess this was to be expected, with the game director coming out and talking about jank that is to be expected, but... Jesus. I guess I'll save my money for now and come back in half a year or so, when these unpleasentries have been ironed out of the game.

EDIT 15.02. 2am MET: After watching a lot of different reviews, I think it is save to say that Luke was practically the only reviewer who had so much trouble. Most reviewers who faced problems talked about crashes but not about corrupted savefiles or broken quests.

My sincere apologies if my thread did pour additional gasoline onto an already heated enough discussion. It was only meant to inform people about assumed technical issues. That said, I am still unsure what to do, but the best option seems to pay for PC Gamepass for a month and to test the west (Gen X-ers will understand the reference).

I think its quite understandable for people to be upset and voice their opinion when they believe something is hurting things they love.(games in general or even just an IP)
Then wait, that's exactly what I said. Don't jump to conclusions like "It hurt my IP". It's bandwagoning.
I like the bandwagon, they have cookies.

I don't know what's going on with people these days. The desire to be first to crap on something is overwhelming some of you. Starwars Outlaws was a fantastic game with some buggy spots. I had BG3's camera get stuff under the terrain. These things happen.

Some of you need to find some inner peace and just enjoy life, get off the forums, get out of social media. Maybe this game is good, maybe its not, but there's no need to race to your conclusion. Touch grass people.

If you are that concerned it will be bad, just wait. Wait on more reviews, wait on more footage. You don't HAVE to play it TODAY. lol

Luke literally goes into the game and shows his corrupted save files in his review. That's not trying to be negative because he doesn't have "inner peace" or whatever. If a game is that buggy for him, why SHOULD he like it?
who? and why should i listen to another snake oil reviewer with their bias opinion ...
I am not cuck enough to listen to the opinions of others like Luke and not form my own thoughts on it.
not gonna watch but i already got the feeling that obsidian isn't too excited about its own game. Seems like they're checked out and ready for the inevitable microsoft downsizing

It's almost like some new type of mental illness forming. These days people call a game "absolute trash" due to 3 seconds shown on a trailer 2 years before the game even comes out. It's INSANE behavior.
Other reports are very positiv about the technical side.
IGN: "encountered almost no glitches or technical issues worth mentioning ... That’s all but unprecedented for this genre, and an extremely welcome surprise."
Digital Foundry: "And while the experience was largely bug free for me, I did encounter a couple crashes on my Xbox."

I am sure if you scout Youtube for issues, you can find them.
It´s really normal with big RPGs like Avowed, and btw. exactly what Carrie was refering to.
My impression going by the available info is that the game is rather surprisingly polished.

Bro. In your own quote he literally says the game crashed on his Xbox multiple times. It's baffling that you can quote that and be like "it's surprisingly polished".

He needs to fix his computer, the game runs amazing. 7 hours played and zero crashes, zero quest issues, performance has been wonderful.

Most reviews say it runs well to and doesn't have a ton of bugs. This is the only guy complaining about bugs n crashes.

People like many games that are even more buggy?

Complaining a game has bugs is like complaining your burger came with a couple of burnt French fries. I mean duh? This happens and comes with the territory, especially if they used natural potatoes instead of the deep frozen ones. Just don't eat those, eat the rest of the 134 French fries and enjoy the otherwise tasty sandwich. Besides those bugs are already being fixed by updates, so there's also that.

And I saw 5 reviews, they mentioned occasional crashed but none of them mentioned the saves problem, only Luke, so it could be specific to Luke.

And guys like you are why devs continue to ship games that are buggy and poorly optimized because you reward and defend their incomplete products regardless.
Yup. Mediocre.

He said "largely bug free ... a couple of crashes on Xbox". And the other quote was even more positive.
I didn´t claim the game had zero issues, which would be silly for any game, especially in this genre.
So I had no reason to cherry pick and cut the part where he mentioned the crashes.
Like I said, the majority of info seems positive about the tech side, thus I am optimistic about it.

Yeah nah... this guy is seriously weird.
Firstly he thrives on negativity.
Second.... something isn't right with the dude. Pretty easy to see that too... but if you like him and find him tolerable then good luck to you.
lol Luke Stephens, are you serious? (not actually asking)
