What was this games budget?

Hello, it would be cool if Steam showed the budget of a game i mean how much money they spent making it

too high to make their investment back from the dozens that will play it.
that's my estimate for peak player count btw, dozens, 144... a gross.

You can easily calculate approximate budget for the game. Obsidian have around 200 employees, and average salary for game dev is around 100k in US. We can also assume not every single employee worked on the game, let's say it was around 50 ate any given time, that would amount to 5m a year. The game is in development from 2019, so you can safely assume that budget is around 30 million. And that's all without marketing.

Definitely on the lower side.
Other games have their $200+ million budgets but I'm guessing Avowed is around $100mil or even less.
Wouldn't really take a whole lot for this game to make profit.

No one has any idea how much they get for doing that

And it's also not on PlayStation. It's an "Xbox Exclusive"

they are owned by MS and have no say in this
Avowed was announced as a day 1 gamepass game
This says nothing about the quality of the game

Why would Steam know what the budget is? And even if they did, why would they publicly show it?

Honestly, I'm not limiting myself to this game but let's be real. Where are all the hundreds of millions of dollars being spent on? I surely am not seeing that type of investment on game screen.

Overpaid, unproductive, poorly qualified, box ticking, issue motivated employees who are only there to do the absolute minimum and collect a regular salary.

You can spend whatever budget you like on such people. Garbage in, garbage out. The only question is how expensive the garbage will be.
