$70 Is A Lot to Ask For This
I want to get this game, but everything I've read about it sounds like it doesn't justify the $70 price tag. It's not as expansive or as deep as something like, say *Skyrim*, and it sounds like it could use a patch or three (yes, I know that two have already been released). But for what's being asked for it, it doesn't feel as if it's worth it, not when you've got games like *Atomfall* on the horizon which are being offered at less than $50.

It's also frustrating that this game hasn't been offered on sale yet. Not even places like Greenmangaming have discounts, and Steam doesn't even have it as part of their Spring sale, though granted the game just came out, so it might be considered "too new" to be put on sale.

If I had to guess, the reason why Obsidian has it priced so high is because of the long development cycle this game had and they want to recoup as much of the time they invested into it as possible, even if the game itself came out undercooked.

As it is, this feels like a "wait for a sale" title to me, no matter how many people I've seen love it. For what it is, I'm thinking $50 is a more reasonable price point. But when that'll happen is anyone's guess.

Then don't buy it?
You can also play through it on game pass.

I originally did then bought it on steam when I realized how much I liked it.

The game just came out, of course it hasn't been on sale.
It's also likely a way to funnel people into game pass.

Every game of a decent size will eventually hit $70, be prepared.

Simple get Gamepass and play it on that. I certainly did not buy it at $70 and am enjoying it on Gamepass.

When it goes on sale for around $40 I will buy it on Steam until then Gamepass it is.

if only games had things like sales and subscription services for lower entry fee

if only, one can dream

Obsidian didn't publish it MS did (as Xbox Game Studios) they're games are always top price on release.

It's simple, if you don't want to rent it via gamepass and don't want to pay the full release price then learn patience and wait to get it in the future when it is on sale, expecting it to be discounted less than a month after release is ridiculous.

If you think $70 for a 50h+ game is bad, what about games like The Last of Us which are under 20h and cost nearly the same?

Most people hopefully still go by quality over quantity.
Sure, Avowed has the quantity but what about the quality?

That's a no from me.
If it had both quality and quantity way more people would be raving about it.

I mean it's great that you like it as much as you do, I too enjoy some mediocre games here and there. More power to you.

With the amount of time you've spent on the forums for a game you don't have, don't plan on playing, and seem to actively not like, you could have beat it.

More power to you.

It's not worth it either

Lots of assumptions there and I never said any of this things.

In fact, I have played this game already via GP. I have said numerous times that it’s an okay game.

Imagine that, people who play the game can still end up being critical of it. Wild.

Your argument was not enough people are talking about it.
You've been in here for weeks railing on the game.

You're not being critical, you're driving a hate campaign.
Anyone who is bringing up numbers for multiple weeks isn't interested in honestly critiquing the game, you're just here to pointlessly argue.

Cool?
All games go on sale eventually.

I’m not railing on the game. That is your biased eyes looking at my comments ready to defend your beloved game no matter what.

Hell, you’re actively even looking through peoples post history to use what you find on there against them. You defend the game way too much to have an actual discussion about it.
