New Patch seems to ruin textures and lighting on Orlans
Having very grainy and patchy shadows in general and Orlans just look like a mess. Using a GTX460

I noticed that today. I'm going to try it without ray tracing tomorrow to see if that helps.
I've noticed some similarly weird stuff from this patch. My Moonstrike rifle looks way different in the inventory screen then it does in the overworld. Like the particle effects only partly loaded.
Same. Lighting used to look great and seamless, now I notice a lot of visual bugs related to it, especially on Yatzli's face. Will wait until the next patch comes out because it's too distracting

Same here. Too bad as it is better on everything else.

If this is talking to Yatzli in camp, I was getting flickering textures all over her face [3060Ti, i5-13600KF, 64GB].
I pissed about with settings with ray tracing, textures, NVidia low latency etc.
Only thing that seemed to work was changing upscaling from DLSS Balanced to TSR seemed to fix it somewhat, so i kept messing. Eventually changing DLSS to DLAA seemed to resolve the issue.

Although that now seems to have tanked the performance from 90FPS to 50 :(

I met her today for this first time and her fur is a sparkly, shimmery mess... really ugly.
Okay hold up, can we take a moment to discuss that you're playing this with a GTX460???

I have a feeling he meant a 4060, as I'd be amazed if he could run this game using a 460.

Unless, of course, he was playing at 480p, everything turned to low or off, at sub 30fps...and who on earth would want to play like that?

Can confirm that the issue disappears when set to DLAA, but other presets of DLSS mess up the lighting. Wasn’t like that pre-patch
Force dlss preset J with nvidia app or nvidia inspector + nvidia inspector xml for dlss forcing. I'm using dlss swapper to swap the files to 310.2.1.

They updated the dlss files, including they're using their own custom nvidia streamline files version 2.7.3 (I kept their new streamline files).
Also they added ray reconstruction file "nvngx_dlssd.dll" in
drive:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Avowed\Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64
So there might be chance it's forced on when using dlss scaling, as it can make the scaling look better, but ray reconstruction also adjusts shadows and lighting, besides just resolution and reflection resolution.
If the messed up lighting is that there is some weird colored flickering going on, delete the ray reconstruction file, if any of the above didn't help, they're prolly forcing the newer variant of ray reconstruction which has issues with certain characters, other games with similar issues outlaws and spider-man 2 being one of them.

Make sure also to delete the old streamline folder in the nvidia folder.
drive:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Avowed\Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia
The new one is "StreamlineCore"
