This isn't 2009. That strat aint stratin no more. Not interested in your LGBTQP stuff.
Obsidian basically has three options before them, and I firmly believe that they understand perfectly well that the result to their bottom line can be predicted based on which they choose, in descending order:
1: Fire and disavow (ha ha...) this turkey. The sooner the better. This is actually a very easy choice for Obsidian to make, because he very plainly DID come out as racist. That isn't some undeserved exaggeration. Bioware Montreal's original director got quietly removed for being exactly the same way—proof that even if they privately agree, the optics of such blatant reprehensibility can be persuasive. Besides, this idiot seems to already be braced for some kind of penalty.
2: Completely ignore everything. This is the path they're currently on and the best possible outcome is that the game ends up being too good to outright fail and they break even. I'm going to trust my "minutiae radar" on this one and assume, based on some of the jank we can already spot (like the dubious mouth engine), that the game is not going to be as foolproof as all that. Definitely not a good option.
3: Side with their racist employee. Say goodbye to the company—it would not survive this decision.
I CAN SMELL THE RAINBOW.
Nothin to do with pronouns, the director is racist.
It'll crated. We just have to wait until the pipeline of woke games finally runs out.
