Imho he should preface some of his tweets with that being his opinion and does not reflect the views of his company. TBH many of his tweets are not necessary. If you need therapy, go to therapy, just saying.
Nvm I just saw the tweets and it’s baffling why these people continue saying the quiet part out loud. There has to be staff at Obsidian seething right now.
Agreed 100%. After I saw the Force Gaming review, I was pretty excited for the game release. Now I'm not so sure I want to reward a company that employs people who are happy to just spout vitriol online about people who don't agree with them 100% of the time.
The irresponsibility of this action is, in my opinion, legally actionable, and if I were working at Obsidian I'd be reviewing my options along those lines right now. Even if I 100% agreed with his agenda.
With zero hyperbole, his outburst is going to result in an up to 50% drop in the game's sales prospects, because everyone just learning about this game are going to tune in and find better than half of every online influencer sh---ing on the game, and when it finally drops, critics will give it 10/10 and users will give it 2/10, both lies and both equally worthless. We've seen the fate of such games already.
This could have been a fantastic launch and THIS ONE GUY ruined it.
This...
Supposed to remain professional and unbiased at work, but this is a celebration of breaking all of that to 'own the chuds'
Same 'chuds' who buy your games and keep you employed
Brilliant move.
edit: of course since his comments said the game would be infested with all their personal political agendas (hello veilguard), i say thanks for bragging about it so early on, easy to skip buying this and just move to the next game
But if they had any sense they would also read the room and completely walk back and erase any trace of this sickening woke FILTH from their game, and I just don't see that happening at this point. So into the flaming dumpster it goes with all the rest.
One can only guess they either don't understand this or do not care, probably because they won't really suffer much in the way of consequences for it...
Then again, maybe this one dude is just trying to intentionally lose his job, considering he's been talking about wanting to be replaced by a PoC...
The game will release and I can buy it and play it if I want.
It succeeding or flopping does nothing to me.
Like Baldurs Gate 3 did fantastic and it didn't effect my experience at all.
Although making fun of Elon is always based
