C'mon, PoE was their swansong. What really killed the studio was when the false allegations that were thrown at Chris Avellone during the 'me too' Hollywood grift occured, that have since been PROVEN false and Chris was awarded a hefty settlement for defamation. That's actually when Obsidian turned into a trash, rainbow-mafia, DEI, ESG propaganda pushing, activist studio staffed by blue-haired commies.
btw chris avellone will probably not see much of that settlement. most of it is going to be divided by his lawyers - that is if those two con-artists have anything to offer - and what he is left with, is unadulterated headache and burnout for dealing with this.
was that also the reason why dying light 2 turned out to be such and underwhelming game? he was there to design the story and then this happened.
Headaches are he has now, that is true.
DL2 suffered from the same issue, yes.
I do hope he can start a nice comeback arc of some type. Dude is mad talented.
This is complete nonsense. New Vegas had it all, open world, factions, great story, great dialogue, choice, consequences, the combat was so-so but it was modifiable. It had a great atmosphere, it was epic. Watching this trailer, listening to what Obsidian is telling us, this is not an epic, it's a nice little side quest RPG.
There is no reason to lash out those of us that are upset that Obsidian decided to aim low after getting our hopes up for something much greater.
also, they make different type of games, Bethesda makes modding sandboxes, Obsidian makes RPGs...
But yes, as an "obsidian fanboy" I'm more excited about inXile's "Clockwork Revolution" than I am about Avowed, everything seems off about it somehow...
Before that’s a cause for alarm, however, many of these remaining 20 were key people in New Vegas’ development, and Obsidian also has Leonard Boyarsky and Tim Cain on board, even though both are on Outer Worlds (2), and Leonard and Tim are the original creators of Fallout." Urquhart a would like to argue your point himself in the following article (https://www.pcgamer.com/what-makes-an-obsidian-game-playing-tonnes-of-old-obsidian-and-bioware-games/), apparently people that were working on the original fallout games are now working on avowed. Now sure, there are some people leaving, obsidian isn't the exact same company that was working on new vegas but there's still important folks in there and the situation is far from a bioware like problem.
could have been dasting
appears to be colorful trash
yup yupper and yuppest
