[EDIT] Also, canonically, the house is right by a lake:
“One of the other guys snickered. It was getting darker. A cold breeze had sprung up off the lake. He heard other voices, just up the street. Billy waved for all the others to duck down behind the bushes. Six people walked though the gate of the Stauf place. They climbed the path toward the front door.”
2) Well, the original cast weren’t exactly young back then - of course they’ve been recast. You can’t use poor quality FMV from decades ago in VR!
3) Obviously. Most of the 2D puzzles won’t translate into VR. Chess puzzles maybe, and The Chapel Floor will be amazing in VR, but the Telescope puzzle? Threes & Fives? Heart gate flow? Yeurgh.
4) Nope. Already confirmed to be an expanded version of Matt Costello’s story (much of which was left out of the original game)
5) Does not mean literally anything, but exactly what it says. Inspired by. It will be reminiscent of 7th Guest, with similar themes, motifs, and atmosfear, but not exactly the same.
6) Well, the Stauf Mansion in 11th Hour is what it should have looked like in 7th Guest (except for the ghost scenes/memories) if technology had allowed it.
Seems to me, you just want the original game. Well, you already have that. For VR, you have to rebuild from the ground up. That means: expanding the story, utilizing modern tech, and yes - hiring new actors to replace those who are dead/too old. You cannot create modern gameplay using decades old incompatible assets.
Yes, it's clear that a recast is needed as most of the acting was subpar in the original. I say most because Stauf was done perfectly, and unless Hirschboeck turned it down, it is a crime to recast him.
while some puzzles don't make sense for vr, they are in the minority. Just because a puzzle might be a little hard to utilize in vr, doesn't mean it should be scrapped. What really irks me is that we have footage of replacements for puzzles that could have easily been done in vr(cake puzzle) that have clearly lost the visual touch of the original.
I'll give you that one.
And that is a shame, because Team Fat's score(as always) works with the scenario flawlessly. Having something similar to the score, is not the same, especially when the score isn't that difficult to accomplish. George Sanger's still composing, and recently touched up the complete soundtrack, so it's clear he still has interest. It would take more effort to create a sanger-adjacent score then to get a sanger score. (also, bit of a nitpick, but unless it involves an angry Belarusian man throwing people into black holes, it is spelled "Atmosphere" not "Atmosfear")
what exactly about the technology changed between the 1st and 2nd? and how would this change the display of pre-rendered environments? the clean house of the 1st works because it symbolizes the presence of the 6 guests and stauf. the dilapidated presence of the 2nd works because it mirror's stauf's fall and struggle post-Tad.
I want 7th guest VR, not A VR game loosely inspired by 7th guest. The two are not the same. 7th guest as a game series and brand has been burned enough by cash grabs(see board game and 25th edition) and a misguided fangame, I'd really hate to see another blow to such an iconic franchise.
6) Technology changed. Plus time and budget. The house should never have been in such a pristine condition in The 7th Guest. It’s decrepit by the time Ego appears. 11th Hour had the correct look.

Yes I knew the original, but it's so far away that I don't remember the plot.
Also, I'm not a nostalgic person.
Nope, it IS The 7th Guest ONE. We see the guests arriving in the Foyer at the start (watch the demo playthroughs) introducing themselves. That only happens in the original game.
Yes, the actors are different. Yes, the lines are different. However, I still recognize all the characters by name, and SO FAR (from what I've seen after watching only the demo) the story and characters are all consistent with the original story; the details are just artistic license.
I completely understand; I'll always remember Hirschboeck as Stauf because- let's face it- he nailed crazy, sick and mean. Same goes for Alan Young (rest his soul) as Scrooge McDuck. But I have to make allowances given the 25-year time gap between this and the original game; it's impossible to get all (if any) of the original alumni to reshoot the scenes due to advancing age. Martine Burden wouldn't be as sexy as she was three decades ago. I don't know about you, but I'm going in with an open mind. Hopefully, the next Stauf actor does justice to the character.
