@Announcements

Hello, Creators.
We would like to inform you that the following hotfix has been applied to inZOI. Please refer to the details below for more information.

◆ Hotfix Details

◽️️ Patch Date: April 15th, 2025 at 10:00 (UTC)
◽️️ Game Version: 20250414.2252.W

[Gameplay Update]

◽️️ Improvements of Build Mode default camera and addition of free camera
※ Default camera - improved usability for camera movement and rotation
※ Free camera - added free camera for Build Mode where players who are used to WASD control can use conveniently

◽️️ Improved In-game character appearance: Light shadow casting update
Addition of Streetlight Shadows
Addition of Furniture Lighting Shadow Option
Addition of Realistic Shadow Option

※ [Official Comment from the inZOI Team] Shadow casting effects have been applied to both outdoor streetlights and indoor lights, delivering a more natural and realistic graphical experience.
We hope this update addresses long-standing feedback regarding the visual inconsistency between characters viewed in the Character Studio and those seen during gameplay.
Due to optimization limitations, this feature was not implemented during the initial development phase. However, in response to continued player feedback, we have introduced shadow casting as part of our ongoing improvements.
Further enhancements are expected with an upcoming engine update scheduled for this summer. Please note that enabling shadow casting may impact performance depending on your hardware.
We recommend referring to the detailed settings guide below to adjust the feature according to your system environment.

[Bug Fixes]

Gameplay

◽️️ Fixed an issue preventing players from resuming gameplay
※ [Official Comment from the inZOI Team] An issue was identified where game progress was not properly saved under certain conditions, preventing players from resuming gameplay.
This occurred due to the ESC key failing to exit Map Mode as intended, and the transition to the lobby proceeding before the save process had fully completed—occasionally resulting in corrupted save files.
To address this, we have updated the ESC key functionality to correctly exit Map Mode and revised the transition logic to ensure it occurs only after the save has been successfully completed.

◽️️ Improved so that a Zoi’s lifespan is changed each time the game is resumed, preventing repeated deaths at the same age

◽️️ Fixed an issue where Zois would not die in fires immediately or were unable to use stairs and fire extinguishers during fire incidents

◽️️ Fixed an issue where certain objects were missing after reverting to a default lot

◽️️ Fixed an issue where locked doors and windows could not be replaced after adjusting platform height on apartment lots[/quote]

Excellent news, now we just have to see how taxing the new shadows will be on performance. WASD camera in build mode also welcome.

I'm going to have a play around with the shadows and lights. I'm curious because it's true that at night, some zois have so many shadows on their faces that they don't look the same, and even look ugly.

1.- Ok. Tested. I have tested it on my old pc and they are indeed super demanding for performance as they warn in the patch note. I played it on high (with a couple of options on ultra) and now I have to turn it down to medium.

2.- I was able to activate the 3 new options in the medium settings. After loading the game (which now slows down quite a bit if you activate the new options from the start menu) I was able to go back to the old high settings. It seems that performance takes a big hit at load time. Once the game is loaded you can go back to your old settings with the new options enabled.

3.- Still, once you have changed your general graphics settings (medium, high, ultra etc) you have to wait for the new change to load. From 2 to 5 seconds. During this change it lowers the fps to 1, returning to normal fps once the new graphic settings are loaded. Test result: If I keep the settings on medium with the new options, loss of 2 fps. If I keep the settings on high with the new options loss of 10 fps. I run the test with the fps capped at 30 fps.

4. My zoi's wife with the new lighting has aged about 20 years XD (she is in the adult state). I don't want to imagine her when she moves on to the next stage. My also adult zoi has aged equally but more benevolently. From what I've been able to tell, it's because you can see the wrinkles more. Wrinkles that I didn't see before.

I will test later with geforce now to see its impact.

I personally see no difference, it was on ultra all the time and it looks good. My bar is maybe low.

In ultra with AI also activated? In GFN I had to go down from ultra to high because the game seems to slow down or the AI behavior is unstable (more unstable than default as it is currently, I mean). And that's before activating the new options. Or so it seems to me.

That reminds me, I didn't indicate how I did the test on my old PC with respect to AI. Anyway I did the test with AI disabled obviously. So obvious due to the fact that my old RTX doesn't support such functionality since it's from the 2000 family (that's why I signed up for GFN, to test AI).

I logged out, and back in. I forgot that a patch is a thing you have to download and install. I am not so happy about the disabling of my virus and ransomware protection. That is all I have to protect my computer.

You mean that when you wrote the message you hadn't installed the patch and that's why everything looked the same? XD

Yes, I thought it was something like a hotfix.
