TOS Question before buying
Hello.

I've been waiting for this game for a while and intended to buy it on launch, but something came up. Now I thought about it again, but decided to have a look at reviews first.

Plenty of negative reviews say there is a Terms of Service that basically says "The developer can remotely remove your access to the game if they don't like the way you play".

Is this true? Seems a bit vague. I've played games with similar TOS before, in some it exists for obvious reasons, eg prevent gore/porn mods for multiplayer games that kids play, in some it exists for reddit moderators on power trip to ban you because they didn't like you on personal level. What's the case in this game?

What do you mean with "basically"? Do you think they will take your money and block you randomly without a reason?

I think you will be fine as long as you don't install any adult mods in this game. These legal documents are probably just in case another "journalist" tries to slander the games name by pretending that it lets you murder children.

Just gone through the ToS, it's just typical dry legalese.
it's basically the same as any other ToS on any other service you are part of where it's telling you there are limitations and you abide to follow the terms of service, if you fail to do so and you will be punished for it.

Like any private service, you are subject to their rules and regulations as far as they can legally take them.

of course if you don't want to agree to that, you are free to delete the game and out of your library as well and move along. the moment that is done, you are effectively terminating the agreement you accepted to.

that's the long and the short of it.

That is what I'm asking here. Because I have seen other games with exactly the same sort of TOS, but completely different way of implementing them. I would like to know under which implementation category this game belongs to.

If it is cherry and Xautos stated here, I have no trouble with it. But if not, then it is just a time bomb waiting to go off and I'd rather steer clear.

You need a lawyer, but he/she will tell you what you already know. You don't own the game and have no rights when the publisher ends your contract.

I mean they wont remove the Game from you just because of Mods.
Its not a Multiplayer Game.

Krafton can only implement these terms of services in a way that satisfies laws of countries they operate in. There is a particular mention of United States about their laws as well as mention of international laws. They can't make stuff up on the spot or abuse the position they have, that will take it outside their terms of service and right into laws of countries they operate in.

Here's the link to Krafton TOS. You can look over it.

I doubt that the game will ban you just because in the way you play, because its a singleplayer game.

if they did the publisher will cause people to never buy a game from them again.
