Is the game deleting Characters?

My Zoi met a guy, went on a date with him, fell in love and got engaged. He is still in my contacts but I am not able to call or meet him. When I try to send him a gift the game says "this person does not live in your world, you cannot send him presents". Does this mean he is gone now and my Zoi needs to find another partner? I was running through the city looking for him for a few days, but he doesn't show up anymore. But why is he still in my contacs when the game deleted him? Its really annoying...

It is literally what it says. Try calling him over, I bet he will come. He is just a homeless with some money. Try placing him on an empty cheap lot. Than can send him presents, All Zois are able to live somewhere, but some need some help.

The hint is this: this person does not live in your world, you cannot send him presents. The Zoi exists in the game, but doesn't live on a property in the city; he is effectively an 'extra' in the game and will only show up through certain events or randomly when your active Zoi is in the city. The only way you can interact 'fully' with a Zoi is if they 'physically' occupy one of the residences on the map (and are therefore available for you to actively select to play), which the man in question does not.

I had the same problem my zois bff can't be contacted anymore I also have the issue that fake fires are constantly breaking out when I leave the apartment in that savefile, I think it's corrupted.

The game doesn't actually delete them. What the game is telling you is that he lives in another city, so you can't invite him and you can't have interactions like with zois who live in the same city as you.

The only way I have found to meet a homeless zoi that is not in your city is to create an event (a party) and then invite them.

But thats the problem. I want to invite him but everytime I try it, I am not able to call him, the game says "this character is not able to take your calls" I tried it so many times. He also doesn't show up in the Karma-Board or in the Zoi overview. He is also not a Soul

I already tried that but he doesn't show up there as well. I can only invite my Zois two friends.

they are, you only need to look at the city status and karma thing, souls are noted and individual zoi's turned into a soul are shown in a listing.

So after many ingame days my Zoi was able to call him again an invited him over. She married him right away so he does not disappear again...

Almost all the people you meet are townies, and don't live inworld, zoi need to be inworld to call them over, you will almost never be able to call over a townie, they will not even show up in the "all families list" like townies did in the sims, so you will not be able to move them in somewhere, your only option is to throw a party and invite them and hope they don't decline.
