Pretty much. It is a life simulator.

However comparing it to The Sims is a bit unfair. That'd be like comparing apples to pears.

Both are similar, but both have obvious differences.

Question is...do you enjoy this sims?

To me, yes. My kids absolutely love this game right now. It has way more content than Sims base game.

The character creator and the build mode are good. The gameplay is ok, it has a bit less content than the base game of sims 2 and sims 3 but there is still more than sims 4 had. I only play live mode when I talk to my bf, it's about as engaging as watching tv in the background which isn't a bad thing for me I wanted a chill game with nice graphics since I feel burnt out from the multitasking I had to do in sims 2 but if you want to be able to play a complex life sim then this game is probably too early access for you. Until release all updates of this game will be free so keep that in mind when deciding if you want to purchase it now or later, the price might increase once it leaves early access.

Its a good game start and if propperly followed and developed it can top sims 3 easily. as it stands its better than sims 4 but not than sims 3. theres too much jank and i think this game needs a mature mode too. If i want to put mustard into cakes at work (or such) i should be able to do it. Devs need to commit to it you have a gem of a game here.

I agree, in a few years it may be able to completely top Sims 3 if done properly.

Dunno about 'something', but it is like the sims with some better graphics. It's early access so if you planning on putting lofty expectations in place, you are going to be disappointed. the developers have yet to put out their first update yet, so patience is key.
