Look, I have nothing against multiplayer games or people who want multiplayer; I just don't think it should be shoehorned into a game that was likely designed from the ground up to be a single-player experience.
You are assuming that it was designed to be a single player game from the get go. When it could of been just as likely designed to be both single player and mutli player from the start. We will not know for sure until it releases.
From what I've gathered, the closest thing to a multiplayer feature is the ability for players to upload houses and characters and share them with people so they can download them into their game.
