Why inZOI Failed - Message to the developers
1. Character Personalities
inZOI: Personality types barely affect behavior — all characters act the same.
The Sims: Traits drastically changed behavior, preferences, and compatibility.

2. Wishes and Fears
inZOI: Wishes feel forced and disconnected from real situations.
The Sims: Wishes and fears naturally followed from characters' life events.

3. Relationship System
inZOI: Relationships grow through spammed identical dialogues; personality has no impact.
The Sims: Relationships depend heavily on personalities, likes, and dislikes.

4. Artificial Intelligence
inZOI: Characters often freeze and feel lifeless.
The Sims: Sims actively interact with the world even without player control.

5. Needs and Behavior
inZOI: Events like "park festivals" override basic needs like hunger and sleep.
The Sims: Basic needs always remained the core of character behavior.

6. Life Goals
inZOI: Choosing a life goal has no real gameplay impact.
The Sims: Life goals provide motivation for long-term character development.

7. Open World
inZOI: Small, poorly optimized city with many empty buildings.
The Sims: Richly detailed worlds with active communities.

8. Neural Networks and Innovation
inZOI: Neural networks barely add variety to character behavior.
The Sims: Everything is based on well-developed gameplay systems, not "artificial intelligence."

9. Karma and Rumors
inZOI: Karma system is weak, and rumors rarely impact gameplay.
The Sims: Reputation and life events significantly affect gameplay.

10. Bugs and Instability
inZOI: Numerous bugs and performance issues.
The Sims: Bugs exist, but core gameplay remains stable.

11. Modding Support
inZOI: Promised modding tools are missing.
The Sims: Massive community-created content is supported.

12. Developer Strategy
inZOI: Filtering feedback and suppressing critical voices.
The Sims: Growth supported by encouraging community creativity.

Quick Comparison

Character Personality
inZOI: No real impact.
The Sims: Strongly influences behavior.

Wishes
inZOI: Feel random and forced.
The Sims: Reflect real events and needs.

Relationships
inZOI: Shallow, repetitive dialogues.
The Sims: Deep, based on traits and preferences.

AI Behavior
inZOI: Characters often act lifeless.
The Sims: Sims are active and expressive.

Life Goals
inZOI: No gameplay influence.
The Sims: Drive long-term development.

Open World
inZOI: Small and mostly empty.
The Sims: Detailed and full of life.

Bugs
inZOI: Many, often breaking immersion.
The Sims: Fewer, gameplay remains stable.

Modding Support
inZOI: Promised but missing.
The Sims: Huge, active community.

Conclusion
inZOI promised a revolution but turned out to be a beautiful yet empty shell.
The Sims remains the unique life simulation where every action matters.

While inZOI focuses on external beauty, The Sims builds a living, breathing world inside the game.

Early Access is not an excuse for bad game design.
But I guess Boots don't lick themselves.

Just because you don't like Inzoi doesnt mean it has failed , The sims currently is a huge buggy mess with many bugs that have been around for years , Like the vampire speed run that got broken 4 years ago with a pack and never fixed . Or toddler walking and running . I have played the sims since it came out in 2000 and to me pretty much every sim in their world all acts the same and even if they have different likes you can still flirt with them and romance them to get married within an hours play .
OPEN WORLD ? You are obviously not talking about TS4 Only Three had an open world and EA binned that trying to make 4 as an online game which they binned with the outcry from players and the disaster of Sim City and they also binned the colour wheel restricting even more player choices which Inzoi has from the start .
You will also find a lot and i mean a lot rely heavily on custom content and mods to keep their games interesting , playable and better looking .
Inzoi has a small world , How about TS4 has usually a max of 14 lots in each worls and they are all needing loading screens to get to . No Cars , no transport apart from bikes that ever since they came out are so messed up your sims ride indoors on them .
Inzoi for an early access game has the Sims beaten hands down on the base games for content and playability .
Don't even get me started on the disaster that is the Get Famous pack , Every time a celebrity appears everything stops to hang round him/her . Do a couples dance with your partner and the dj imediately leaves his/her booth to stand and gawp at your couple and the music is stopped , Go on a date and try and talk and immediately other sims try and sit by you and join in . All dates run through the same series of a few interactions to get a gold date so you get bored having them doing the same thing over and over to get a champagne bucket , the most pointless gold date gift ever apart from to sell .

You say Inzoi is better than The Sims 4, but you're forgetting about The Sims 2 and 3, where there were already real systems like careers, relationships, and cities without loading screens."
(Here, you're highlighting that older Sims games had more advanced systems.)

"In The Sims 3, there was a true open world. Inzoi doesn’t even have dense, interactive maps — just empty lots."
(This directly compares the open world of Sims 3 with the lack of it in Inzoi.)

"In The Sims 2, Sims had unique personalities that really set them apart. In Inzoi, all the Sims still feel like dolls with the same reactions."
(You're pointing out that Sims in older games had more depth in character.)

"In The Sims 3, you could travel to different regions without loading screens, but in Inzoi, everything is broken into tiny lots that require constant loading."
(You emphasize how the world design in The Sims 3 is superior to Inzoi's.)

"Remember how, in The Sims 2, the world changed with the aging of characters, not just adding new skins? Inzoi feels empty in comparison right now."
(You're showing that older games had a living, evolving world, something Inzoi lacks.)

"In The Sims 2 and 3, you could easily create your family, follow their lives, and even set up a love triangle. In Inzoi, characters still don’t have that level of freedom."
(You’re pointing out that older games had deeper social interactions and choices.)

"What’s the point of a color wheel if The Sims 2 already had whole systems for relationships and careers that affected the world around you?"
(You’re making the argument that superficial additions like the color wheel don’t hold a candle to the core gameplay systems in The Sims 2.)

The developers promised to integrate artificial intelligence during the early access phase. The AI will learn and react to the player's actions, creating more complex and unpredictable situations in the game.

Are you currently observing the presence of artificial intelligence in the game?

But I guess Boots don't lick themselves.

I read the roadmap for the game, and it mentioned that a bunch of various items, customizations, and other unnecessary stuff would be added, but there wasn't a single word about AI.....

Don't you find it funny when your wife is giving birth, and your priority at that moment is to go to work or take a walk in the park? This is truly a breakthrough in artificial intelligence. All I see in this game is cool character customization and beautiful graphics, but that's not the developers' achievement; it's the work of the Unreal Engine developers and MetaHuman

I think in 25 years, INZOI will be closer to The Sims 2, especially with its AI

InZOI in development for 2 years, in early access for 3 weeks!
The Sims franchise 25 years old.

That's like judging a newborn based on the actions of the father.

come back in 2 years and revisit, stop hitting yourself with negative thoughts on this game.

Inzoi has 25 years of Sims history to look at and is more bare bones after 2 years of development than even the first sim console spinoffs, which had basically nothing in them. "Early Access" is not a catch-all excuse for a game being bad or bare bones. This is a 40 dollar game- it has 6 dollars worth of content. That's bad.

The way they released the game with a trait system where every single character has exactly ONE trait is absurdity. The most basic Sims games, the most basic Sims knockoffs, do more than that. Singles was a sex-focused Sims knockoff budget game and it has deeper gameplay than Inzoi does.
Kat Apr 26 @ 6:37pm
Sims 4 released without toddlers and pools, it was dead and barren and lacking any content when it released... and it was sold as a fully finished game at full price. inZOI has been transparent with the fact they are early access and still have a lot of development to complete. I'm sorry that was too complicated for you to grasp.

I find it so stupid this war between 2 fan base.
when a new game tries to come onto the market.
I'm getting annoyed with the constant comparisons,
Inzoi doesn't even try to become a Sims clone. or a Sims Killer.
whether you like it or not. both have their advantages and disadvantages.
both games have their right to exist and a fan base.
So there is no reason to constantly compare and beat each other up.

They are the people who see someone living in a cardboard box and compare it with having a mansion. Oh, I understand that you are new on the jobmarket, your home really sucks, a mansion is much better. I don't understand why you live in that box. They have no understanding how it works.
