Ideas for Achievements for inZOI
I've been giving a lot of thought of achievements ideas for this game. The Sims, a big inspiration, never had Real Achievements, so it's common to think that Life Sims just can't have achievements.

But I don't think that's the case at all! I've been compiling some ideas for good achievements that I think could work for Life Sims, and specifically, inZOI. So I wanted to share those with the community, and HOPEFULLY, get some input from players.

Please, let me know if you have any ideas for achievements. Also, if you see one of my suggestions, and think it should be different, please feel free to suggest that!

NOTE: This thread is about inZOI and achievements. I'm here for opinions and ideas on achievements for the game. Any posts insulting other players, and any attempts to derail the thread from it's intended topic will be reported.

Let's have fun while brain storming some ideas for a future update to the game! I want to hear your ideas!

Base Achievements

Promotion!
- Have a ZOI reach max level in x, y, z career (this can be several different achievements)

Skilled ZOI
- Have a ZOI reach max level in x, y, z skill (this can be several different achievements)

The Widower
- Have a ZOI outlive a spouse (kinda dark, but The Sims did it, so...)

Popular ZOI!
- Have a ZOI have x number of relationships/friends

Family Matters
- Have a ZOI family reach x number of members

Legacy
- Play a family for x number of generations

Golden Pee
- Hold your pee for 24 hours straight

Not There!
- Have your ZOI pee on the floor

That's Not Nice!
- Have your ZOI pee in a public place

Clean Up On Isle 9
- Slip in another ZOI's pee

Over-Achiever
- Have a ZOI complete x number of skills/aspirations

Rich ZOI
- Gain x number of cash for a zoi family

---

So these are some of the base achievements I've thought of, but while putting this together, I found that some achievements kind of clump together into specific categories so, here's some of the categories that I'll have achievement ideas for:

Careers
Skills
"Woo-Hoo"ing
Potty
Family
Friends
Driving

It takes time to format these so please feel free to give your input on some of these ideas, or share your own if you've got some!

Another thread to call attention to from the same user, who keeps people entertained for 600 posts (I hope they close it after the report).

We have a new one from someone who won't buy the game if it doesn't have achievements.

Don't take the bait again

Mike, do you have a preferred achievement type?

I'm trying to limit the TOTAL number of achievements to something less than 100, but the skill and job achievements alone could easily get up to the 50s (meaning the "Have a ZOI max x skill" achievements)

So I'm wondering if I should consider condensing those achievements into one. On one hand, it's not feasible to say "Have a ZOI master ALL skills", BUT you also don't want to have 50 different "master x skill" achievements (maybe? maybe you do want 50 different ones)

Personally, I'm all for "the more the merrier" in terms of amounts of achievements, but I would like to get some other opinions, before I take the time to write up every possible skill achievement individually.

Is it worth it to split them up? Or should I try to condense them somehow? If so: what's the best way to condense them into something feasible for players?

Haha yeah this is really meant to just be a first draft. Like I mentioned in another message, I'm not sure if they should be more condensed, or more "exhaustive" so to speak.

Which do you think don't fit (and why, if you have time)?

Are you kidding me? Do you really think I'm going to take your usual bait of asking questions instead of answering? :steamfacepalm:

I am not interested in achivements in games, you don't own the game and you're not going to buy it because it probably won't have achievements and you have a foolish exhausting thread about this issue. (linked above).

Are you starting a new thread in case the other one is closed? How many more will you start on the same topic?

Your first feedback (and only because people are kind):

One day achievements will make it to this game though it won't happen until near release or after release when everything is in place. however development of game content will take a while to filter down the pipeline, it could take upwards of 9 months to a year. so the idea to suggest the types of achievements that could appear isn't too far fetched.

OMG Your Welfare Recipient idea reminds me:

When Sims 3 came out, I made a Sim that was a kleptomaniac, and I tried to survive on thievery alone. Amazingly, I was able to manipulate "friends" so that I could shower/pee/poop in their house, before STEALing their furniture and adding it to my own house. It was rad.

Great ideas, thanks for the input! I will try to work some of these into the list.

I like some of these a lot. Create 500 seems like a massive undertaking, but then again, they are called "achievements". YOu have to have some that cater to an audience that likes a little challenge/grind/difficulty.
Syn[a] Apr 24 @ 6:00pm
have a family generation of 10 generations, or 100
or 10 x 10 etc... like in the Sims 4. will take a very long time

Reach level 10 of a skill
Reach level 10 of 3, 5, 10 skills, etc.
Reach high affection with 5 other Zois
Paint 300 paintings
Cook 100 times
Cook 25 different recipes
Marry and have 2 children
Read 10, 20, 50 books
Play a household with 7 pets
Play a household with 8 ghosts

Edit: if you really mean it.. If you had made the first thread like this, it might not have gotten so out of hand. Mike seems to have become your arch enemy. lol

No, no, he isn't taking me seriously or wasting any time on me. I mean, almost all of his posts are following me and responding to me, but not because he takes me seriously. He knows I'm a just a silly troll that he can ignore, that's why he responds to me so frequently.

But yeah something about that other thread was just causing hostility, and there were a few people absolutely demanding that it end, so I figured it would be better to create a different thread, one more focused on a topic that can move forward. There will certainly still be some people who will still be mad, but there's only so much you can do.

I like your suggestions a lot. Some are the kind of things that players will naturally reach through typical gameplay, some are things you'd have to directly strive for, and some are truly achievements: longform goals that players can work towards and feel satisfaction when reaching. Great ideas, Syn!

Man, of course you can do whatever you want, but if you want to join the "dialogue" about achievements in this game, you can join the other "600+ post" the OP started before on another post on the same topic (and see where that takes you):

https://steamcommunity.com/app/2456740/discussions/0/599648576857002665/ :steamsad:

As the OP could say: "There's no Steam rule that prevents someone from opening multiple threads about the same topic in the same forum for the same game." Or is there?

But is it really necessary? :steamfacepalm:

PS: @OP -> You score TWO.

the problem with that other thread is that it has ran its course, and it wasn't about suggesting the potential for achievements, it was to discuss why there aren't achievements already in the game.

while i agree the issues are similar, they are still separate on their purpose.

I'm glad you understand the difference between the two. Idk why they think I'm "opening the same topic" when it's clear I'm not. But that's Mike for you, you have to just let him do his thing. He's on a mission.

He's banned for a reason.
