Body Customization could be better
Thr game looks great, but I find making diverse characters difficult.

1. Everyone is the same height. The tech to change this has been out for years, and was used in games like Dragons Dogma 2, but studios still don't do it. All the men are 5'10, all the women are 5'6. You cannot make a short character or a tall character.

2. Animations do not update for character body shapes, so limbs and fingers clip easy. Basically if you do not make a default thin person, things will look odd. Not only that, but some of the sliders don't have much range to begin with.

These two things combined end up making the characters feel a bit like copies with different faces. No matter what, you'll end up with some 5'10 guy who is the same width and height as every other guy in the game. I understand that this simplifies animating, but it's 2025 and there's loads of tools for blending animations and adjusting them to fit characters if different shapes and sizes. It's disappointing to see Inzoi and Sims 4 using the same animation setup when Inzoi is much much newer.

The different heights are a challenge in Life Sims. so there is always only one size per age group. because otherwise it would not only be very challenging, but also a lot of work.
The Sims has 25 years of experience, and they never got it right.
you would have to add too much for the different sizes so that no strange deformations occur. So I would be surprised if Inzoi it is built in the game that young adults can have different heights. without the animation looking weird.

but I agree with you, the sliders in character editor could be more, the body shapes are still quite limited.

You can absolutely do it but it would require more work. The Sims didn't do it because EA hates spending money. Essentially you take animations for characters of different sizes and the game engine blends them to make them work for different size characters. Unreal and Unity 3d both have native tools and support for this, including ways for interactions to be adjusted. But it does require more animations.

IMO it would be worth it. Life Sims have a lot of people in them and it looks more natural when you people of different sizes.

It is a ton of work to make animations work for variable sizes, as well as clothing, furniture etc. Generally, it is not worth the effort and time it takes, not to mention the huge quantity of bugs it introduces.

1. developers have already mentioned that there are not going to be any height sliders because they muck up too many animations and it would to too much bother to work around it, so as it stands every zoi is going to remain the same height based on their lifestage they are in.

2. trying to build detailed animations to fit the bodyshape of the individual will likely be time consuming to do, it's not like the animations can scale with bodyshape. something like that might take time to really sort out.

It doesn't seem to introduce bugs at all. A lot of games use animation blending to streamline the process and share animations between skeletons.

But the cost is definitely a factor.
