Married zois constantly bicker even with good karma?
My newly married zois who are about to finally have their wedding event constantly fight, to the point they won’t even kiss on the forehead. The smart zoi description input works with their inner thoughts (how they cherish and love each other etc) but at the same time they will insult and bicker nonstop, to where I want to break them up already.

I noticed soon as zois get married, it’s hell from day one. How the heck am I suppose to immerse myself in what seems to be a start of a hateful marriage? I get them to make up but they will quickly bicker again if I look away for 2 seconds!

They haven’t even consummated yet because they go from 100% lovebirds to complete enemies. At this point I hate the npc I ended up picking and I took my time getting to know the city singles.

Is there some trick I need to do to stop them from possibly hating one another, or worse cause some type of infidelity? I’m not having fun :sad_seagull:

Sorry you think we complain too much, we don’t all play the same so different in feedback is good for the devs. Thanks!

Don't worry. It often happens that features are removed all at once when the developers don't explain them and the users don't understand them and they are not implemented and don't work as they should.

As I said, eventually they will end up making a basic game that works as it should and the mods will do the rest.

You are welcome.

Cool, thanks captain negative. There can also be what they call optional game settings.

Gotta love how you have that one user who thinks you’re the problem when it’s clear others here are having the same issues with the smart zoi function as well. Sad you are ok with that function being clearly flawed, and not letting me freely voice it.

I’m confident inzoi studio will give us more options later down the line, and make the smart zoi function smarter (maybe lol). For now stop shooting down the players who paid and supporting the game just like you by giving actual criticism, instead of coming in my thread like I’m the problem.

Ngl I kinda wish we’d all stop saying it’s just early access, we all know this already. I’m just disappointed that the system isn’t working properly and voicing it like this is good feedback. I mentioned this in their email survey that was sent out too.

Again, my issue is with the broken smart zoi and autonomy which Syn[a] here cleared up for my post perfectly. That’s one of the functions that got me excited for inzoi. It’s not that I don’t understand the system of the game but simply that some game functions are clearly currently flawed.

That's absolutely fair. Tbf to me, though, there are A LOT of people here who don't understand that it's "early access" and throw little tantrums over each and every thing that doesn't work perfectly or the way it does in some other game and those people need to be reminded to chill before they kill off some much-needed competition for The Sims before it even gets started. You're not one of those people, clearly, but it's easy for some of us to get into the mode of expecting the tantrums since they're so prevalent and respond with a little, "Bro, relax and give it some time" kind of vibe.

I agree with the SmartZoi thing, btw. I'm super interested in that as well and, at best, it's a little clunky at the moment. It works really well for me sometimes, and other times it gets in the way of the Zoi's day-to-day AI and stops them from taking care of certain needs. My solution has been to toggle it on when the situation is more open-ended and toggle it off when I need Zois to do what I need or expect them to do.

In my experience with it so far, it matters A LOT how you phrase things in your prompt. Very small, very subtle changes in your word choice will be interpreted by the AI completely differently. For me, to get certain zois to act the way I wanted, I had to engineer the prompt a little until I dialed in the behavior I wanted. Even then, I still had to turn it off sometimes when it got weird.

To be fair to the devs on that one, though, it IS marked as an "experimental" feature. They're not hiding the fact that it may not work properly. They're just putting it out there so, as you said, we can give feedback on where it works and where it doesn't.

So, yeah, we're def on the same page there. Sorry if I sort of answered the wrong question initially or assumed your issue was like a lot of the tantrum-throwers here. There are just SO MANY of them, I assumed you were another and -- in a move that may be unprecedented on the internet -- I'll admit that that was my bad.

No worries, I like that people share their zoi story experiences here because it makes me excited for my next zoi RP game. I still very much love the game and will continue to support it :happyfroggy: So please don’t think I’m a hater, this game has let me escaped from hardships in RL and made me very happy lately.

I get it that people go in defense mode, but I was very much confused and wanted answers because I had to fine tune my smart zoi feature inputs many times to get it to understand what RP I wanted with my zoi, this all worked well before she got married. I even used ChatGPT to help me lol 😂

Not all posts are dumbing/talking down the game, in my case I felt really dumb because I thought I did something wrong with my zoi and her relationship that took me 40 RL hours to build. Reading those who also ran into the same issue as me with the smart zoi and autonomy put my mind at ease, and that’s all I really wanted out of my post. Not someone pointing blame at me as a player who is enjoying the game but didn’t realize how seriously flawed that experimental smart zoi really is.

Once that function is good and ready trust me I’ll be living my zoi’s best life! She had so many mishaps and funny moments before they both said I do, so the bickering really got me confused. Syn[a] came in clutch and explained it simply and to the point, and those are the type of zoi players I appreciate a lot here. No pointing fingers, no judgement, no scolding-straight to the point.

I also appreciate your game stories and Angel’s lol. I love reading stuff like that! I just wanted something for my first zoi, a basic girl finds love of her life in InZoi with smart zoi features, that’s all hehe :smilechillet:

I don't know where I said it was great. Just that a feature that isn't fully implemented shouldn't be so annoying.

Clearly there has been a misunderstanding. It's one thing to present feedback on how to fix something (constructively) and another to say I don't like it then it must be wrong. Regardless of things like it's not fully implemented (obviously), it doesn't work as it should (obviously) and it's not understood what an early access or feedbacl is (obviously).

As I said there is nothing to worry about. They will make a sims clone with better graphics and then the mods will fix it to everyone's liking.

By the way I find it funny that you call me captain negative not being me the author of the OP of the thread. Which is clearly a negative complaint without contributing anything that we all already know.

By the way, again, nobody tells me where to write in this forum. I have responded. You didn't like what I said and it is obvious that if you don't like something it must mean that we all must not like it.

Same.

I love hearing people's stories. One of my favorite things with games like this is how half the story comes from the game, the other half comes from our brains filling in the gaps and connecting the dots to create something bigger than what's actually going on under the game's hood.

And, yeah, I too play games like this to get away from bad times, relax, and immerse myself in a story, building a world, evolving characters, etc.

Honestly, I'm really rooting for this game. So many times, people get impatient and stomp a new game (or movie or tv show or whatever) into the ground before it has a chance to blossom bc they have sense of entitlement or childish reactions to not immediatley getting what they want/expect. We've never really gotten any good competition in the life-sim space and that's let EA get a little lazy, price-gougey, and allowed them to ignore what players want bc where else are we going to go?

Now, with InZOI and Paralives entering the arena, there are finally some alternative options for EA to sweat a little over and which will maybe force them to actually fix some bugs, lay off the poorly-disguised microtransactions, and listen to players. I'd HATE for impatient and entitled gamers to kill all the competition and put us back into a life-sim space that's totally monopolized by EA and The Sims. Competition is good for all of us players.

I don't think you're a hater. I was just on a roll of responding to people who definitely ARE haters, and I accidentally kept the vibe going as I responded to you (although, tbf, I think I was pretty respectful about it; just trying to say "relax, give it time").

Glad you got your answer, even if I wasn't the one to be able to get it to you. And, again, sorry if you felt attacked. That was never my intention.

Hopefully our blue bar of friendship has gone up a little, not down.

I came in upset at a function that wasn’t working correctly with the game’s autonomy. Someone finally later explained it clearly and put me at much better ease.

Fine by me. I just returned the ball with the same force as I received it.
For those of you who are not talking about the SmartZoi feature like OP was but are instead having problems with your married (or otherwise happy) ZOIs bickering, arguing, or going overly ham with the negative karma conversation choices, definitely try changing some of the sliders in the Control City Status section under Manage City.

E.g. The sliders for "Conversation Karma Positivity" and "Conversation Karma Negativity" default to being in the middle, and this means that your ZOIs might automatically choose either positive or negative conversation choices with their partners or other ZOIs equally. This almost guarantees that otherwise happy ZOIs will say horrible things to their partners when it wouldn't make sense for them to do so.

If you feel like your ZOIs are going too negative and it's wrecking your relationships, try pushing the karma positivity slider up a little and the negativity one down a little and find a balance you like better. And if you don't like how slowly you have to build up your green relationship bar after your ZOIs get married, crank up that Family Relationship slider to make it faster and easier.

You can also use those sliders to adjust how long it takes to build friendships, relationships, and family relationships, how quickly your house gets dirty, how often things break or catch fire, etc.

For those of you who are just like "Idk, some relationships in the game are just bad for no reason," try adjusting those sliders and you might discover that they don't have to be.

anyone around the world would like a good drama story. i've created plenty of my own in TS4 over the years and i have complete backstories and full stories on some Sims after they passed away.

Lots of intrigue, betrayal, secret affairs, incestuous relationships but only defined by law between two unrelated individuals married into a family, so not really incest. I've had stories of sims murdering other sims, or playing extremely cruel and devellish pranks on others to make their lives hell on earth, as it were. I've had fairytale relationships, weddings and loyal to the end relationships. Miscarriages, adoptions, surrogacies.. the list goes on as to the stories you can make.

Inzoi has that potential in spades, it's a matter of how much the developers can realise it and bring some meaningful depth to this game.

I already bought the game because I think it's really great and it looks good.
and SIMs is getting too boring for me,
Yes, it still has some problems. But I didn't expect anything different when I bought it in EA.
I played for 10 hours to satisfy my curiosity. and wait patiently for further development as I do with almost all EA games. if I buy them. It doesn't hurt me to have paid €40 for it.

Paralives I also have it on my wish list. I am also curious about it.
Having a change from Sims is good. Sometimes I feel like playing a live simulation. a very quiet, comfortable round without action.. but Sims has become too boring to start. especially without mods. and there were no alternatives. so I often went to other simulations.

I’m nearing 60hrs and I’m still not bored, on my first zoi and still haven’t bought a car to drive manually lol. I still have so much to unlock and explore, but I also like to take my time when I can game irl.

Yeah sims got boring for me too so inzoi has been a breath of fresh air.

I’m trying to figure things out on my own without relying on the hub too much for answers, or reading stuff online because I want to get my own first reactions with the gameplay, pretty much keeping it spoiler free much as I can avoid it lol.

The smart zoi defo sold me on this game but thanks to your help and others I can just turn it off for now. It was fun to use when my zoi was single and it understood the inputs, man can’t wait till it evolves later down the line.

I'm not really a fan of drama stories. They always make me so restless inside and angry. lol
But that doesn't stop me from watching, reading or playing them, I know it's contradictory.
the things you wrote I've already done some of this in Sims. but I never used violence mods.

My last Sims save game has a family where the parents of the two unrelated teens married. But the two teens also fall in love with each other. Both have children from someone else.
I didn't use a mod to allow teens to get pregnant. I added them as parents with MCCC after creating the children in CAS. Pure drama chaos the family. lol

anyone around the world would like a good drama story. i've created plenty of my own in TS4 over the years and i have complete backstories and full stories on some Sims after they passed away.

I plan my next zoi life gameplay will be a bad karma criminal zoi. I’m just giving the good karma a lot of play for now, and managing the city has been very interesting routine to my zoi’s daily duties.

I agree, this game’s potential is very high imho. I have no regrets buying it.
