VERYYYY UPSET.
I have been waiting for this game for months, and have been extremely excited about it as a Sims player, but I cannot even try it! I payed 40$ for a game I cannot even play unless I get some sort of a display card that's TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS?! I'm not extremely tech savvy and the past few hours have been strenuous and exhausting just to keep receiving the same message over and over again! "The game may not run due to the device's limited graphics card performance."

I've tried checking for updates both on my laptop (A Windows 11) and my Steam, but nothing!

I attempted to restart my Laptop, AND NOTHING! I am so sorry for being so upset but it's such a letdown! :( I really hope that they can lower the graphics card requirement or SOMETHING in the future. I have never been this disappointing in my life..

You can try to get a refund for the game, but that might be difficult if you have blown the 2 hour limit.
Sorry to hear about it, but in all this would be a cautionary lesson in to not get too hyped, and making sure that your computer can run the game, by seeing what the minimum computer specs are for it.

Gamedev: Please use hot water to make your tea, here's a bag of tea.
Player: My cold water doesnt work! I tried putting the tea in the new cold water and its still not working! Bad tea!

A restart of your laptop will not fix not having a compatible hardware. Your inability to read minimal requirements is the reason you are upset. You can ask for a refund at steam support.
I was expecting to be able to play it at 4k with some jank and about melted my desktop... but it runs really well 2k on ultra with a 3060rtx. It may take some time for you to upgrade, but it's worth it. Still wanted to send my condolences, totally get how disappointing it is to get a game you've been waiting for and realize it won't run on your stuff.

Post your computer specs here so we can have look at what your trying to play the game on.

Especially the video card you are using.

The computer specs required to play were posted before early access. Did you not read them? BTW check into Nvidia GeForce NOW, a cloud gaming service that allows users to stream games they own on digital platforms like Steam.

If it's not a good range laptop with a dedicated card and plenty of ram, it sort of answers itself. add in the lack of tech savvy, and the complaint of a few hundred dollars and i suspect one of those awful intel integrated cards.

You bought him a new Computer?

And why not simply post it here.
No offence, but surely common knowledge that this game was going to be demanding on hardware would've reached you? It really is on the consumer to do their research on hardware compatbility before purchases.

Regardless, I do think you should refund ASAP. Don't keep trying to run it. If you're not willing to upgrade your hardware you just need to accept that playing InZOI might be a long time away for you once the hardware gets cheap enough or optimisation lowers requirements.
The minimum requirements are pretty clear, at least an RTX 2060. This isn't like The Sims 4 which runs on a 15-year old engine that was outdated even before the game came out, this is a modern Unreal Engine game.

You can usually refund Steam games within 2 weeks if you've played less than 2 hours, no question asked.

To be fair people, I rarely check pc specs before buying a game, probably because i have a good laptop.

But to the OP, if it helps, don't be too disappointed in not being able to play the game at least for now, because the game isn't all that great, at least for now.

I find moving around with a keyboard and mouse and controlling the character to be very hard to navigate. When i feel like playing, which isn't much, trying to get from point A to point B is challenging to say the least and annoying.
Not to mention trying to navigate menus like build mode. You might have to read a manual on how put a new floor in a house. I tried to put a new floor in my house and ended up deleting the whole house.

Just read some bad reviews to help you get past the disappointment, there's probably a lot of truth to them, though it won't get you back the money.

The thing that disappoints me the most is that Life By You was cancelled. But i refuse to go back to the Sims because it sucked way too many years from my life.

Damn i feel you, i have been through the same issue with other games.

Good thing this is a early access game so you might see a update in the futute which will fix it for you.

Like Oz gaming mention you should post your computer specs here, and hope that the devs will look into it.

"To check your PC hardware specs, click on the Windows Start button, then click on Settings (the gear icon). In the Settings menu, click on System. Scroll down and click on About. On this screen, you should see specs for your processor, Memory (RAM), and other system info, including Windows version."

Its a lot easier to just use Steam - Help - Systeminformation, copy/paste the text.

Its also more information.

There is a mod that prevents the warning and you are supposed to be able to play it. But that doesn't mean you CAN play it. Maybe depending on the specs of your laptop it will run at 1 fps or you will suffer a CTD.

My advice: refund or Geforce Now.
