Report a translation problem
I contacted their support via email about my first issue where the saved game just wouldn't load without any errors. They forwarded the problem description to the development department. After the latest patch, there was a problem with corrupted files. I hope this will be fixed in the next patches.
I thought maybe someone had encountered this problem and already found some workaround.
Same for me as to the issue like the OP. I went on to report the bug - that of not being able to click on the "play" button to load a save game, and they did suggest me a few steps before escalating the issue further up. Now after patched I can actually try to load a savegame but they all seem corrupted. Hope they may release a patch ASAP to address the issue.
I noticed that my corrupted data has mismatched timestamps. Specifically, B1 and the Thumbnail were created at 11:59 PM, while B2 was created at 9:59 PM. I think some data didn't get properly synced to the Steam Cloud.
I checked my other dates, and all three files in those are created at the same time, so they work fine. That’s probably why I’m getting this error. Unfortunately, I don’t think the lost data can be recovered. So I guess I’ll just have to replay the lost hour. What a mess.
Yes, I also noticed that there are several files, all of them have different times, which do not coincide at all with the time they were created.
I had an error "Save Data Corrupted. The save data corrupted. Corrupted save data cannot be played or recovered. (ErrorCode: FileNotFound)"
First, I realized that my Windows user account had the name JOSIE & MALIK (with a space and &), which may have caused issues with how INZOI accessed save paths. The game couldn't load any saves — even newly created ones immediately gave a “FileNotFound” error.
So I:
Created a new Windows admin account with a simple name (no spaces or special characters).
Logged into Steam and INZOI under this new user.
Created a new save — and it worked!
Then I tried to restore my old save:
I copied my old save folder into the new user’s SaveGames directory.
But INZOI still didn’t show it in the Load menu.
That’s when I noticed something:
Inside each save folder, there’s a Portraits subfolder with .png files — one for each character.
In my old save’s Portraits folder, I saw two PNG files — my two custom characters that I had created before everything broke.
So I took just those two PNG portraits (nothing else!) and pasted them into the Portraits folders of all my new working saves.
After that — I opened INZOI, went to “Load Game”... and BOOM — my old save with both characters finally appeared and loaded normally.
So maybe INZOI uses those PNGs to validate saves — or maybe they help link character data back in. Either way, this totally saved me.
If anyone else is stuck like I was — give it a try!
Thank you for the possible solution! I also know about special characters in the Windows user name, that the problem may be in them. It is very strange that the developers simply will not fix it, since the problem is known to them too. After all, all other games work correctly, the problem is only in InZoi.
It worked for me too! Now I need to figure out how to migrate all the data in the new W11 profile so as not to lose anything...Thank you so much for the hint :)
