Oh and feel free to change some parameters in the city configuration menu.
They reduced the chance of random deaths now for people who are not elderly.
Here is the thing you need to understand.
You gain nothing from letting them just auto pilot for long periods of time.
Any skills they may learn on their own you can focus level directly x1000 faster by just looping the command to do said thing 8 times in a row.
What you will lose is actual time with that Zoi you can't get back right now. This is simply because every Zoi has a limited play time based on their lifespan. You can not avoid death in this game right now tell they update the game with that feature.
So just understand sure... you can let them auto pilot for example overnight, but all you did was push the timer down the line further to your inevitable demise.
To be blunt.... don't get too attached to your Zoi atm.
I think the layer above their base needs ideally directs things a bit more, eg to track when they last did an action and govern how often it is able to be repeated unless triggered by some other thing, like a conversation/book/TV etc prompting them.
For example they brush teeth too often because they clearly want to increase their hygiene stat even though it's not particularly low, and they check the mirror a lot even when not vain or relevant to what's going on in the day. It's funny because I remember this stuff happening in the old SIms games too, until they figured it out and balanced the repetitiousness or at least had it relate to their natural obsessiveness/other traits. As much as its probably not fair for us to compare to Sims 4 autonomy where they pretty much got it licked - having spent a decade and a half refining it - it's always going to be a point of comparison, so hopefully inZOI devs can find ways to innovate as they have elsewhere.
But yeah the same happens with things like smelling plants too. I get it, it probably smells REALLY GOOD. To smell it each time you go past? Sure. But to leave your apartment to sniff the hallway yucca? Are we sure it's not effervescing something more than just leafy-goodness?
Left the game on while I slept and came back to unpaid utility bills, and simply cleaning... Since utility wasn't paid, they could not cook. Thankfully I made a save before going to sleep lol.
yeah they do love to smell their plants lol.
offtopic
They need checks or smth 10-20mins(in-gametime) before their scheduled events as well so that they do not arrive late. That and also the ai can decide an appropriate activity beforehand that will not cause them to be late. Unless they have the ADHD trait.
I hope they go deep on their AI cuz I like these types of games where I can overlook them doing their thing while I study or w.e.
At the end of the day though...compared to sims.. this company has not had years(sims been around since 2000?) to deepen their codebase/employee experience like EA has...
So I have high hopes for the future of this game.
