ETA: I'd answer but I don't have the game & am wondering the same thing. I'm very interested in gameplay, how the Zois act and interact. Is the game super realistic or do they get goofy? That sort of thing.
You don't own the game... or likely refunded it. You can't be serious? This is Early Access.
While this game is definitely comparable to The Sims I feel like it's more then just The Sims. InZoi just feels more complex then Sims.
If you're after actual gameplay, the pickings are currently a little slim; the AI (at least, the 'old-school' CPU-based version - my GPU won't run the generative stuff) is limited and a little buggy. But that's to be expected in an alpha build, and it doesn't mean to say there isn't some good bare-bones Zoi-sauce to enjoy and ocasionally have a laugh at (I've witnessed some hilarious 'emergent behaviour-ish' Zoi-interation moments).
If you're the kind of 'lifer' who likes to trade sleep for creative gains, this game may well be worth a look at the current asking price. But there are a lot of key things missing and/or unfinished in 'live mode', so if that's your thing you may prefer to let it... um... simmer for another year.
Since it's early access and still mid development a fairer comparison would be how it compares to beta Sims 4 which probably none of us ever played. And can anyone remember how base Sims 4 played at release? I can't, but I think it was probably way less than half the game it is now (even without addons).
I would just say that visually inZOI is great if you like realism, architectural design, realistic lighting, etc, and in terms of the character creator and build mode it's excellent already. Obviously it doesn't have the thousands of items yet but the customisation is much better than base Sims 4 since they actually implemented the old stuff that Sims 3 had with colour picking and texture customisation. You can already create some really stunning interiors especially if you import textures. Character creator seems like a huge leap forward for all games let alone life sims and the characters look incredible even if there's currently limited options for things like hair etc.
Gameplay I think is going to be less zany than Sims as a rule, since it's trying to be a simulation game first. But it's really hard to judge since clearly they haven't implemented everything they have planned and in six months I'd imagine it will be totally different to now.
Honestly I'd say if you love character creators and build mode it's worth buying already but if you don't care for build mode then I would watch gameplay videos to see what it's like. Either way though you definitely have to expect that in this case early access means what it says, you're buying to support early and expecting that the release game version arrives in 18 months or whatever.
it's the only way to go about it by shoving your foot up there and getting the zoi's to do what you need of them, then you can pull the foot out.
