How did inZOI summon the wrong gaming community?
It seems like somehow inZOI drew in the attention of people who don't typically play Life Sims or know what to expect out of them. They're also being loud and aggressive over things that don't actually involve them if they don't want to be involved.

Coming from the regular Sims community and usual life simmers, inZOI's surface presenting community is NOT it. These are not the cozy, wholesome life simmers that you usually find surrounding the Sims, Paralives, (old) inZOI, etc.

What is happening in this discussion forum? LOL

it's a very worthy competitor to The Sims so it drew in a lot of people who were burned over the years by EA's handling of The Sims or people who were repulsed by the idea of spending 400$+ to make a 4/10 game into a 6/10 game if you get in the right mindset. Inzoi's different, it's promising, its gonna grab the attention of people who are into other simulators like DF and Rimworld.

also people who make inflammatory comments or suggestions in bad faith just to get jester awards but that can be found with ANY game's discussion forum.

Eh, I’ve tried to stay out of most of them, but it’s funny to lurk in them. I don’t normally give the communities much attention though, they don’t add anything to my in-game experience.

Over the years the most disgusting, depraved and toxic community I've ever encountered was the sims community, this place while having plenty of trolls doesn't even come close.

This is 100% why I don’t interact with communities ever, specially ones fostered by EA. Most interaction I do (usually) is watch YouTube.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT WOKE OR NOT WOKE IN THAT GAME, SINCE YOU CAN CONFIGURE THE GAME THE WAY YOU LIKE. IN MY GAME YOU CAN EITHER BE A FEMALE OR A MALE AND THAT'S ALL, NOW IF EVERYONE HAVE FUN, IT'S COOL.
AND YES I AM LOUD!!!

Developers need to lock the forums to people that own the game only, its up to them after-all.

That never ends well, as cutting off peoples ability to ask questions just makes it so people on the ledge about trying a game or curious will not give it a try.

You are able to post in game forums where you don't own the game if its a genuine question, that wouldn't be an issue.

I feel like inzoi attracted a lot of rimworld and dwarf fortress players based on the types of things you can do in the game being so free in comparison to sims.

Simulation games have always been a small niche that largely went unexplored because of how much work it requires to make a good simulation game.

Sims and a few god games were the only ones to really expand the genre at first despite being a niche. Sim's naturally was the first major hit, and never had any real competitors for the longest time. While on the other hand God Games, Community Sims, and other semi-adjacent genres split the rest of the simulation game players into a bunch of tiny simulation-like game titles and cult followings.

Now that people these days are so socially "isolated" compared to the past (to put it kindly), there has been a surge in people interested in life simulation and simulation games in general.

It’s pretty embarrassing that you would call the sim’s community “cozy” bla bla.

Like do you realize how psycho the sims community is? Modders/cc creators regularly doxing, threatening their supporters, multiple have put viruses in their dls to spite ppl sharing cc etc. The mcc discord full of racist aholes. 😂

Not including sims players regularly insulting and attacking anyone who gives valid criticism. Like shut up. Literally don’t put cozy indie players in the same group as the sims community, thats insulting to that group of players.

This is just par for the course on Steam Forums. In general the people on these forums are the toxic people that get weeded out and banned on reddit.

However, don't oversell the Sim Community as being some wholesome friendly community. That has never been the case, there has always been an entire dark side of this community.... why do you think Wicked Whims is so popular.

To be fair, we can assume the OP is one of the casual players who has never spent much time modding Sims games. As anyone who has knows Sims community is very different than Sims players give how far and dark that rabbit hole goes.

There are a bunch of level 0, private profile, don't own the game trolls. i think some idiot streamer sent his fans to attack it too.
No Asmongold didn't send anyone here to harass players of this game.

That's probably of the more tame Sims mod communities you can mention on Steam. xD

I truly think your average Sims Fanboy/Girl has NO IDEA how dark the Sims community honestly is.... I mean we are talking about a game where MANY BookTalk girls spend their second life....... As Pinhead says "We have such sights to show you!"
