What is your reason to have a private profile for an online video game platform? The only reason I can think would be shame of possibly adult themed games and perhaps that is embarrassing to admit to. I just doubt most people would hide profiles even then. However bait and troll posts typically have a lot of private profiles or profiles devoid of human like looks and "feels" to them.
As to your post, it's common to not have achievements in early access because a lot of the data they will get and analyze will likely be used to either make the achievements at the end, or refine achievements they work on prior to release. It is not common knowledge to realize "no achievements=No buy" because that's a very small proportion of gamers as they play a game for the purpose of achievement gratification. A game within the game, which is a slippery slope for a lot of people since it can be the more negative aspects of engagement in gaming that is formulated to keep players hooked and locked into their product.
Just assume a bunch of random, embarrassing things about me, and rest assured that I'm whatever you believe I am.
