1. There's no option to disable ageing. I prefer to play with ageing turned off. A hotfix (v0.1.4) was added on 04/04/25 and we can now disable ageing.
2. There's no option to start the game from the map view. This is something that frustrates me with The Sims 4, where you're forced into the character creator before you can select a map. I like to plan where my characters are going to live, or build their house before I move them in.
3. The pathfinding system is awful. I wanted my Zoi to run from one end of the beach in Bliss Bay to the other, and instead of taking the quickest route, which would be along the beach front, my Zoi decided to head back into the city and use the pavement and road crossings.
4. Travelling around seems to take such a long time, and owning a car does not speed up this process. I understand that stopping at road crossings and for red lights are realistic, but it's unnecessarily slow. It would be nice if we had a toggle to adjust, as well as turn off the realism that comes with traffic, including accidents, so that my Zois can actually get to their destination in less than a few business days.
5. I'd prefer to use the WASD keys to control the camera, like we can in build mode, as opposed to controlling our Zoi. It'd be great if we had an option to turn this off, or select different key bindings for this feature.
6. The karma system can be confusing, and I don't know why it's applied to all unplayed Zois, and we're expected to manage it somehow. I think we should only get notifications about karma from played households.
7. I don't like that there's constant notifications about choosing a relationship dynamic.
8. My Zois always seem to place food down somewhere, and I have to manually tell them to eat it. Initially, I thought it may be because they're not very hungry, but it still happens even when their hunger is in the red. As others have mentioned, hunger depletes far too quickly as well.
9. In build mode, I don't think there should be limitations for what textures can be applied to certain objects. The Sims 3 will let you apply any texture to any object no matter how ridiculous, and that game was released in 2009.
10. Figuring out how to edit community venues was frustrating, and needs to be simplified. We should be able to edit lots from the map view, including residential lots.
I don't know why there need to be quantity versus quality in this, it's nothing new, the other brand of this game type have always been like that in some regards as well.
I'm talking about this feeling that you swing by the park one day and you talk yourself into two BFF, one eternal love and maybe even a future business partner in one single day. But wait, you also have these rewards if you keep adding BFF up to like 20 people. So you go back to the park next day and start farming for even more BFF. Who in the world works like this.
More often you work hard for that one single BFF in your life and that dedicated love of yours. So why not have the rewards for having 2 or 3 BFF that are hard to get, instead of farming 20 BFF in a few days that you never talk again to. More meaning to have it be an actual goal to achieve this status over a longer time as well.
Maybe love crush and friendly faces is easy to achieve, you could have like 20 simple friends you talk to now and then, they are easily gained but also decrease in friendship very easily, while that BFF you really worked long with also isn't the first one to drop out on you.
Top tier relationship should(could) be just as an achievement as gaining a high rank in any skill/ability if you ask me. You gain it over a lifetime and keep it for a lifetime(hopefully).
This makes so much more sense both in a realistic aspect and also would make it such a more rewarding goal in the game to gain best friends forever and long lasting love, you feel more bound to them and also more sad when they actually depart to afterlife. Now my Zoi constantly get random sad emotions from random people I'm apparently BFF with, that just died.
Also maybe then I would actually go on a date with someone if there was a need for it in the game. You could also add that like for this moment you are on a date you actually gain more in relationship with that person since you put time into meeting up as an activity. Instead of like now where my Zoi already is being top tier relationship from first sight and the dates is only them asking by text-message because the relationship is taking a dive while you are out hunting for 100 more relations.
But maybe I'm alone in feeling this way about this functionality.
The developers must be bombarded with this! Missing multi-tasking is a serious flaw that must be changed as soon as possible! o.o
First, it's so hard to find a rug that fits the area, so they really should be adjustable. Better yet, add one rug we can stretch and adjust 'til our hearts are content (which is single-colour rug for customization), and include other rugs with patterns. Sometimes a patterned rug would look nice, but I also want to be able to customize rugs, and any rugs that have a pattern can't be customized beyond their colours. (The best you can do is customize all parts of the rug to look the same,) If I could delete the existing pattern, that would be fine too, but the rugs need work.
I suggest resizable rugs and the ability to delete a rug's pattern and customize it with a custom texture or other materials.
Perhaps include pre-made patterns for rugs under their customizing options. There are textiles, but changes don't delete the original pattern and you end up adding a pattern to a pattern and that's useless. It might be nice to have various rug patterns/styles available on other sizes of rugs, so adding patterns in the customizing options for rugs would be nice.
1. Hunger depletion - too fast!
2. Not being able to cook more than one portion of food (made worse by point 1)
3. Timed actions. Some activities need to be longer, or even indefinite, not seconds.
4. Build mode - counter-intuitive, especially floors
5. Pathing - it's Sims all over again
6. Zoi interactions. Sitting down to talk, getting up, walking to a different seat, repeat. What??
That said, I am just glad that I can deal with all of the above (and other jank I haven't even discovered yet) without worrying about my Zoi dying of old age while I wait for a fix.
Also idk if it's just in my gameplay but every unplayed family with a married couple, if they can get pregnant, they will get pregnant, no matter how bad the parents relationship is! Extremely annoying to me, particularly if I'm planning to make them divorce because it's that bad of a relationship!
