Steam Workshop planned?
Does anyone know if a steam workshop is planned?

I would like to create characters and publish them so that other players can use them if they want.

Pretty sure that what the built in canvas is already for, I wouldn't expect workshop also.
Okay, since I don't have the game yet, that doesn't mean anything to me right now. But do I upload these "skins," as I'll call them, to their website?
I think they're partnering with Curse Forge, so steam workshop seems unlikely.

Apologies, canvas allows uploading and sharing of items, I haven;t looked into it extensively but currently you can share, buildings, individual rooms, full avatars, avatars faces only and outfits only, there may be more options I'm unaware of, it should also be noted it needs fine tuning, currently if you share a full avatar it only takes the outfit they are currently wearing in the creator and randomises the other outfits. Its handled by their own 'Canvas' function tied into a login on their site. You can also locally save all of the above but if that is shareable I couldn't say, theoretically if this was the old days you could just copy the documents items saved files and just drop them in another computers/users documents saved folder but these days whether the game would read them is another matter.

Anything you create can be uploaded and shared in Creator.. AS Badmagic said there won't be a need for a steam workshop - it won't matter where you purchased the game
The question now is, if I can upload my character somewhere, it's probably on their homepage, right? And do I have to register somewhere for that, or can I just upload these skins?

They prompt you to make an account with them when first using the game. It treats you/addressed you as the 'Creator'. Allows people to download, like and or follow you.

It is this website: https://canvas.playinzoi.com/

Here you can upload your creations and download others. You do that inside the game, there is a browser inside it which use exactly this side.
