Single player only?
Why on earth would a new life sim game be single player only?

A multiplayer would be more complicated, because how people interact with each others and if a underage player deals with an adult player (romances), it could even cause legal questions.
There are kind of "life sims" with multiplayer which even have adult content, like Second Life.
2 days after release and already a patch released, as for multiplayer and underage playing against adults could be problematic and impossible to police, but in my eyes it’s not a game for under 18’s

That makes no sense, in multiplayer people would still be forced to follow the same rules of the base game. Multiplayer would not mean that you have a completely different set of game rules only that you can share the same space with other players.

To be honest if people wants to do what you described they will do it with mods like they did with Sims 4 so again.. this point does not hold water.

That people have to follow rules does not mean they do. There would be people trying to do weird stuff.

Mods on single player do not influence others, you play your game, while others play theirs.

Ask yourself how long did it take before Sims 4 when multi? Just means it can be 12 times as bad imo, but the option wasn't there from v1.0, never mind Early Release.. *smh*

Literally every single online life sim game failed miserably in the past as in the end those games were really nothing but a glorified chat-room with 3D avatars. So yeah. I really hope they will not make it multiplayer. Ever. A sandbox always works best if its resources (to simulate life, for example) are not shared and synched with several players. Hence: either you have a deep SP experience or a shallow MP game with reduced possibilities. Most players would thankfully choose the first option, at least for the life sim genre.

Stop ruining great games by forcing MP ♥♥♥♥ onto them (Dead Space 1-2 were great because they were SP only. Dead Space 3 was MP and it killed the franchise). Thanks.

sims4 started as a multiplayer game, but after the debacle with simcity they changed it, and released it as singleplayer. but many elements still remind of it, like the small worlds, lots of loading screens, lack of small animations.
