inZOI
The world just feels... Kinda dead.
Walking through the world, the people on the sidewalk can't be talked to. The people walking around in the various areas all chat a bit then just walk away. Everyone is either a child, teen, or a senior, so relationships are out... Am I the only person who feels like the game is kinda pointless rn? I get that it's EA, but cmon. There needs to be a higher density, and a lot more diversity with the ages.

I do feel most people are looking at this game through rose tinted glasses at the moment. In a few weeks I feel the reviews will go way down as there is little replayability for the reasons you listed which is shared by most.

Some are still just in the honeymoon period that we finally got a true Sims competitor
Yea there is NOTTING to collect or harvest or to do in the world. Like yeah sort of open world… with loading screens as soon as you want to go to the other zoi in your household. X.x

I also missing the fast presets and color swatches of sims. It now even takes more hours to build a house because you have to EDIT everything to get it even in the same style or wood color…

Wallpaintings are lazy even sims 1 had more textures for walls and had also half trimmed wooden walls. Cant even make a road to my house as you cannot place tiles or any pathing.

Translation of english is done by ai. Most whims to do, i dont understand what they mean by it on what to do or where or how or with what.

Zoi doing romance stuff feels weird. They dont want to kiss on their cheeks, i dont see much interaction for romance or flirting, but they do want to whoohoo without any problem?!

I cant even save a compleat family to their cloud profile online. Only 1 zoi at a time. So no real quick backup for my family for when my game crashes or get corrupted.

There is no multitasking even in the sims 1 they talked while eating dinner. In zoi all you hear is munch munch munch.

Yeah, My character is a lesbian as well. It feels like every single character you run into is straight. They just need to do what the sims does and make every character willing to be with anyone. And for the love of god, have more young adults walking around. It's so weird that the only young people are teens who are indistinguishable from young adults. Everyone else is like fifty to eighty years old.

It feels dead because Zoi's do not interact with one another. I really hope this gets fixed. I don't want to play a game where the only interactions between all the characters in the game has to be initiated by me, the player.

Even in my household that I am playing. There are no interactions between the Zoi's without initiating those interactions myself. It feels lifeless. I have voiced my concerns through the official feedback channel for the game. Hopefully they have a fix for this as I really like the game with that one exception. The rest I can understand seeing as the game is early access, but no interactions between NPC's or from NPC's without direct input from the player is something that should be an afterthought. It is a life simulator. Conversations and interactions are the biggest part of life.

Seems pretty lively for me, to the point rando Zois be walking into my home and my zoi had to get physical. I usually let my Zoi be a homebody and level up their skills. But then again that's how I usually play my life sim games.

You can adjust density and population by clicking M on the keyboard, the go to manage city. There you will need to find menu with bunch of sliders. On the bottom there is one called "Max Population". Slide that to the right all the way. This doesn't solve the problem you described but atleast some more stuff starts to happen if you actually dig deeper.

This sort of resolved the problem of emptiness. There's a lot of Zois wandering about now.

Content and gameplay can improve but generally engine and technical matters mostly stay the same

So the « it’s a EA » copium team will cry

People comparing a 2 decades old series with a bajillion DLCs to an early access game that already launched with more content than previous Sims games...

What is currently in the game is already amazing, and the fact it's early access means we'll get lots of content dripfed throughout the year.

The active NPC draw distance should have a slider in options, i hope they add that in future patch, more options is always better.

It is EA. Now if nothing changes within 6-12 months it will become Mixed

But they still don't talk to one another or you for that matter. Having more Zoi's in the game is not the problem I am seeing. It is that they all just completely ignore each other and your Zoi's. Life is about conversations and interactions with others. If that is not in the game then can it even be called a life sim?

it's called EARLY ACCESS...the developers are still developing the game.

Definitely need more finetuning. Buying EA launches always a gamble regarding that.

I'd say give it time because yeah it's early access, but I won't just slap you with that and leave it at that. I want to offer something to you if you'd willing to entertain a longer post from me as to why I believe in this game, all while absolutely agreeing with you on this issue.

I strongly advise you to join InZoi's discord and then going into a section called "KJun's Concerns".

Those are diaries of the main head developer behind InZoi, his journey to develop this game.

If you are worried that this game may be abandoned, or not developed, those diaries will give you idea just how much of a daunting task this game is for InZoi team and you will see just how human and real KJun is about the development and challenges this game poses.

I became a fan of his after reading those diaries.

Here's the excerb from "The Final Chapter" of KJun's concerns:

Looking back at myself two years ago, when I first decided to embark on this project, I can’t help but smirk knowing how recklessly brave I was to even think about creating a game of this scale. Now, I understand why so few companies have attempted to develop a life simulation game. The challenge isn't just additive the more you try to build—it's exponential. At a certain point, finding bugs in this vast world we've created feels like playing tag with invisible ghosts.

I have to say it again—The Sims team deserves endless praise for their incredible achievements. As a longtime game developer, I can only express my deepest respect and admiration for what they accomplished in this genre.

This journey has been the biggest challenge of my life, but it’s because of you—our community—that my team and I were able to push through every adversity and reach this final stretch. Your unwavering support has been, and continues to be, our greatest driving force.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love and contributions to inZOI. If, by good fortune, the game reaches the level of success I hope for, I’d love to share my untold stories of Kjun and The Sims—the real reason I set out to create inZOI in the first place.
