Let's have a real talk?
The game itself has a really cool concept, but the general play ability and current structure is incomplete and unbearable at times. Mixed with it's heavy use of AI generation art and character designs, it's slow and clunky. It was better off with not releasing at the current unpolished state.

So many desperate for a true Sims successor are looking at this through rose tinted glasses however I worry about this as people with such low expectations are the reason developers no longer innovate. The Sims 4 being a perfect example

It's an early access title. It's gonna be unfinished. It took me a good 4-5 hours to get used to things.

Missed the part where I said it was a cool concept...I am in no way saying the Sims were better. I hated sims 4 and refused to play it, though there are no features in this "Early Access" game that makes you want to stay.

There are numerous issues with the current state of it, one is the developers put a literal "cheat money" button into the menu, giving the players UNLIMITED capital regardless of work. Second, the building aspect is far from accurate and has issues with walls connecting properly.

I want this game to succeed, but it's obvious this game going into EARLY ACCESS was a desperate attempt to save the studio from shutting down.

What are you smoking buddy? For an EA release this has plenty content. Optimization will get better over time.
I love playing early access games. Id rather play now and watch the game grow then wait two or three years just to play it.

Yes, to an extent. When their are key features missing and buttons to gain an EASY mode into the game are present, I don't see how much fun this particular EA release can give long-term.

I honestly think people will be more willing to have the real talk if you tested it out yourself first, cuz I can't relate to what you are saying right now :tempigepic: I'll give you an example. I just went to a fishing event at a river in the game just now. The seamlessness of the immersiveness of the gameplay is nothing like I have experienced in any of the Sims series. Yeh, the game can offer more content because, well, life offers sooo much to do, but the life simulation is still there in the game.

I don't understand why people have such a hard time understanding what early access is. An EA like this perhaps would have been recognized as a complete game a few years ago. If you can't wait, don't buy games in early access.

I have and will continue to test it out...I love the concept and want to play the heck out of this game, but the current state of it doesn't keep me wanting more of it. I need this game to succeed, but with the amount of AI and decision the developers took in releasing this game out doesn't make sense even in an EA release standard. Especially when they have literal cheat buttons implemented.

I can't resonate with why implementing AI into helping creative designs of products, clothings, and overall aesthetics of the game can hurt the game. If anything, it's enabling people to customise their game world even truer in the direction they want. I also do believe that this has been the type of feature that hasn't been tested in any of the other titles of this genre, so for them to have consolidated something like this into their game would have costed them resources. Anyways, like Soldado says, EA games are supposed to be lacking in content, so if you feel like you've gamed enough at some point for the day or with the content, put this game aside, and come back when it has more fun stuff for you to do :steamhappy:

Absolutely! Don't get us wrong, we need this game to succeed to take out Electronic Games (EA), but this isn't how. We need to motivate game developers to release fully-fleshed out games whether than push stuff out.

From what i have seen so far, there isnt anything new in the house building, that sims didnt already have.

For example:
- No curved walls
- No curved furniture, kitchen appliances windows or doors.
- no wall height flexibility. (If i want a wall that a zoi can trip over, then i should be able too, particularly within the garden or along a banister up the stairs and adding railings ontop of it.
- 2 foundations and platforms cannot merge together or have different floor levels with steps (or atleast from what ive seen in a beginner guide video)
Sims had this issue that stopped very detailed design house building.
- roof segments dont intersect very well with no attic like possibilities
- leaning walls and pillars ( unable to make walls lean or arch to make unique looking homes)
- no wall arches
- no wall borders for floors and ceilings
- No ceiling features such as beams.
- No inner roof rafter beams for exposed open plan designs (think a barn house where you can see all the exposed wooden beams holding the roof up)
- no steps on the floors to give a home character by having rooms on different heights.
- no basements (i can forgive this being early access)
- no attic / lofts inside the roof
- no chimneys

Bare in mind i could be wrong. I dont own the game and only judging by what ive seen in videos.

As far as i can tell sims is a far better house builder, and i hoped inzoi to have more innovative abilities to build that sims doesnt have, but right now it seems to be a sims copy paste but with less features.

Now you could say of which everyone does, its an early access, but in my view house building is a core game mechanic and i feel like the devs should at the very least be wowing us with building abilities that sims didnt have and yet it does look like a barebones sims copycat than anything been done differently.

Right now sims4 is a far far better game, in the space of house building.
And from looking at the roadmap, theres no signs of house building getting improved except adding pools.
I think sims4 is on a whole other planet and levels above this game. Im going to hold out and hope this will change in time. The fact this game isnt doing anything innovative regarding house building is a killer for me.

A thing I noticed is no having discussion with other while eating or doing other tasks it seems. When my character is at work and coworker is next to them in their workspace I wish they could turn their heads and start a conversation instead of having to stand up and wait for other co worker to finish their work automation.
It's actually one of the better EA out there ATM, so that is an achievement in itself, more than I can say for some AAA titles today ;)
