No Romance Options for Teens?

I made a household with 2 teens and selected roommates. I wanted them to be a couplem but there seems to not be any kind of romance options, I´ve only been able to declare them BFF.

Is romance only available for adults?

EDIT: I am SHOCKED how many disgusting replies are found under this post. My girlfriend and I are both Teens, in a relationship and wanted to recreate us and our relationship in Inzoi.. Teens are also 18-19 Year old people. You guys are making this weird. I have not talkeda bout anything sexual, this is all on you. All I am asking for is a system close to Sims 4, high school crushes, dating, prom date etc.

I´m actually not ateen anymore if we go by definition (I´m 22 but I still always call myself a teen because I forget :D) My girlfriend is 19 too, so that´s probably also extremely weird to those people. 3 Year gap how could we.

While i agree there shouldn't be any sexual stuff. I do find it weird teens can't have boyfriends or girlfriends. Since discovering how to be in a relationship with the opposite sex is one of the biggest parts of being a teenager.

I haven't played as a teen yet though so haven't seen for myself what is actually ingame.

Btw some of you guys should watch the new tv show 'Adolescence'. Really good and gives some really good insights into this topic.

Completely agree with you. The romance meter you have with people and any romantic action, flirting etc. is completely missing from the Teenager interaction Menu.

There are age ranges. If you would declare 18-19 both as teenager and young adult (as you are an adult with 18+), you would be basically in 2 ranges, which would be a technical issue.

We are talking two topics now, one is that 18+ is young adult age range and not 20+ and the other one is including "romance"-feature for underage.

The first one makes no sense to me to set the age range to 20+. The second one I will not go into detail, as the developer has to decide, how far they go with this kind of content.

The titles vary in country

The United States Census Bureau, for instance, defines young adults as those between the ages of 18 and 32

German law, a person is considered an adult at the age of 18. However, if you are under 18 years old and live alone without your parents in Germany, you receive a guardian. Young Adults are considered to be those individuals from age 18-25.


South Korea: You are a young Adult at age 19. They have a higher legal consent age.

Dating is fine, but right now they put the limits on behavior (due to the teen rating requirements).

So still young adult would fit 18 until more content is added.

Adult higher.

High school-young dating- dances and such are not yet added. So expect vary little in that regards.


You made a house hold with what you called teens , and in most cases 18 is considered young adult.

You can create two households - one with 2 adult parents - a young adult and then another and have young adults date. (the dating is very limited right now to be honest).

or two young adults - as room mates that progress.

They consider young adult 18

In most cases people see teens as under age with guardian requirements not based on the numbers alone.


Things not in the game yet:

Full high school. School dances - school sport events - school parent student events - High school student dating or events.

Right now there is 1 single dating event for young adults and adults.

At this time until the summer update you can not have two zois schedule going together to places. They technically have to be set on individual schedules to go at same time. IT is a problem with any couples to be honest but the marker for Family or dating events for regular couples is there, just not active.

So as far as 16 17 18 19+ year old dating, yeah it will eventually happen. Within reason.

You can kinda create a gay relationship if you make both characters, but yeah, every NPC in game is hetero. :(

Some of us don't want Wicked Anything, we just want teens to have perfectly reasonable dating. Kdramas in Korea litterally have teen dating (not s@xual stuff, just all the cute little dating parts, maybe kissing).

I got dumber from reading this thread and none of it has anything to do with OP. I can see inZOI summoned a whole different kind of gamer because this certainly isn't the typical wholesome life sim community.

I wish we had some light romance options for teens too, OP. I like the way they handle it in the Sims games (WITHOUT MODS) and would like that kinda brought over here. I love to do rags to riches (can't do that, start off too rich) and growing pang playthroughs and part of growing up involves crushes, first loves, dates, first break ups, etc and a lot of that starts in the teen era of a persons life.
