Question about Smart ZOI

The AI powered featured i heard of that's supposed to make the characters more realistic and immersive according to their personality but the feature is restricted to newer gen GPUs (40 series n above i think?) does that simply means anyone with older gens GPUs are gonna miss out on it even if the card can run the game well?

I've seen very little complaints about this idea of locking the feature behind newer gen cards so i'm assuming most think it's fine

I've a 2080 Ti that is yet to give me performance issues so i've no reason to upgrade and i wouldn't feel justified to do so merely because of a singular feature for a game

So what's the consensus on this? Is it as simple as older gens gpu just don't get to have it at all and the community is okay with how they've implemented this feature?

I had a 2080 ti, it was a rock solid card, it is now 3 generations behind. Time to upgrade if you want access to newer features, I don't think it's cool for people with old hardware wanting to hold everyone else back. My guess is they tested older gen stuff and it could not hold up to the stress.

One thing I have found is that Smart ZOI will tone down your graphics settings. I know for me with my RTX 4070TI Super Smart ZOI will change my graphics settings from Ultra to High. Also Smart ZOI is still very experimental.

I believe I read that they are going to improve it to allow other users the ability to use it. From what I read, it is still an experimental feature, so the requirements are high. The article from inzoi mentioned that the developers are trying to make the requirements fit a larger population, but it will take time.

It works on my RTX 3060 12gb, though it was a bit buggy the first time I enabled smartZoi, it only started working fine after restarting the game.
I also have a 2060 super lying around somewhere, was actually planning to test the game on that gpu tomorrow to see how it runs.

its random. yesterday my RTX 4090 PC went super hot after turning the option on.

today it worked normally after i deleted my save and started a new game.
i guess you need to start a new game instead of turning it on an existing save with too meany characters in the world.

I have enabled and cant figure out how much its doing. Tried to make a male zoi as smooth talking casanova but he will always approach a guy for greeting first if guy/gal are close by.

Not even sure if that is just game AI or smart AI at work, I do notice you manually select talking to specific person and they may say hello or whatever then go off on their own agenda/

From how I am noticing from playing around with it. It acts as an inner thought replacement. Those things that decide what happens next. It seems it is not supposed to be a one and done prompt, but a way for you to guide your characters thoughts. While my character is doing something, I would type in a thought for the next action I would like performed. Character is reading a book, and I would write in "feeling the house is dirty, and should do something about it". The next action would have a good chance of being related to cleaning in some way. If left blank, then I believe it just uses more power to process their behavior.

I have noticed that certain thoughts can lead to a personality change that lasts. I put in dreams of being a villain with super powers, and even after deleting, my character now has a preference for fitness/art/reading.

Edit: forgot to mention, there are different specs for smart zoi, and it is tiered. It may be that it has a greater effect, the higher your settings are. I play on ultra, so their actions could be from that.

yes Smart Zoi not only shows the thoughts of your Zois.
If it functions normally and is fully developed, it should increase the intelligence of your zois. and influences relationships, urges, behave, and influence action the zois take less Random. and react more according to their preferences, and less randomly. you can also set your Zois with AI prompts. I can use the function and I already have it. That's how I understand it.

But it doesn't seem to have much influence at the moment.
Smart Zoi requires a lot of power, so if I turn it on, my setting goes lower, with Smart Zoi active my Settings goes down to Low.
So it is best to turn on the function if your PC can play the game on high or very high.
and only the latest graphics cards can do that, after optimization.

I see, that's good to know. I figured it was a beta-like feature but from the replies it seems more like alpha, perhaps. I'll wait and see how things turn out

Just tried the game on my RTX2060 Super after swapping from an RTX 3060 12gb, SmartZoi option is not available on it.
Looks like this feature is only available for RTX 3000 and above, at least for now.

I suspect not only now,
Technology too new for anything under 3000. Needs a lot of power.
like Win11 that no longer works. Normally on all PCs that are older than 5 years.
Because important Hardware technology is missing on Mainboard.

the recommended setting for it, is always a Settings Lower with Smart Zoi Aktiv. usually everything is taken down a Level. the performance is not that good yet, like the game.

But maybe I'm wrong, and if they optimize the game properly, it might work.
