inZOI
cant load a savegame
Hello, my girlfriend has a stupid problem. She can save the game, but when she tries to load a save game, nothing happens. No loading bar or anything like that, just nothing.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I had the same issue. Turns out the problem was caused by special characters and non-English letters in my Windows username.

Fix:
I created a new local Windows account with only English letters and copied my save files from:
C:\Users\OldName\Documents\inZOI\SaveGames
to
C:\Users\NewAccountName\Documents\inZOI\SaveGames

After that, I launched the game through Steam on the new account, and all saves worked perfectly!

Hope this helps someone!

I have this same issue - I have tried turning of steam cloud save as well as windows defender like some people have suggested. However this didn't work for me! I am now reinstalling the game, I have also made a ticket about it. Commenting to see if anyone also has other suggestions!

Same here, and my Windows account doesn't have any special characters at all, just plain ol' latin letters.

I have the same problem, I can't load a save. Please help. I downloaded a pirated copy from a torrent and the problem is the same. I bought a license and the problem remains. I'm waiting for an update and a fix. I love inZOI

I FIX IT

I have folder "#System" on disc D. In here saved all my windows system folder, it is Documents, Video, Picrures and others. I'm change location a folder "Docements" as to folder aSystem. After, saved from inZOI worked. Sorry, my english the bad. TY "lanamiu" for idea, what not correct symbol. I finded him and fixed.

I had the same problem. What was happening was that Windows itself was denying access to the folder when trying to create the save (even though the game said it was saved). The solution was simply to grant Windows permission to access the save folder.

Setting Exceptions in Windows Defender
Open Windows Defender Security Center
Click on Virus & threat protection
Click on Virus & threat protection settings
Click on Add or remove exclusions
Click on Add an exclusion
Select Folder
Choose the folder you want to allow and click Select folder
Click Yes to confirm

\Users\NewAccountName\Documents\inZOI\SaveGames

Tambem estava com o mesmo problema. O que ocorria era que o próprio windows negava acesso a pasta na hora de criar o save (embora durante o jogo diga que foi salvo). Então bastou dar permissão ao windows para acessar a pasta de save.

Configurar exceções no Windows Defender
Acesse a Central de Segurança do Windows Defender

ok we did it, it really seemed to be the username, it was Lena# and after we created a new one without # it now loads the save games
So after it didn't work on the PC of my wife, I installed the game on my PC and....I can load the Save Files.
Same Windows Konto, same Steamkonto.
It works on one PC and on the other not.

This bug really annoyed me :(

I had a # in my user too. The workaround of moving the saved games to another local user worked but I'm not happy with this solve. I don't want to switch users just to play the game.

I didn't try the security defence as working around this bug threw me into a rabbithole of multiple tutorials that were overwhelming. And couldn't really find the Windows Defence stuff.

Hope they fix this special character nonsense, all this time and effort wasted just to open a saved game
