Why only hetero????
Why does the game only have hetero relationships? Yes, the game gives you the opportunity to create an asexual character or create a non-binary character or create a gay/bi, etc. This is very nice, thank you for adding this feature to the character creator. But this feature exists ONLY in the creator, in the game itself, all NPCs and non-player families are hetero characters. That is, if I create a gay character, there is not a single male NPC who would also like men. The situation with non-binary characters is EVEN worse, non-binary characters do NOT attract ANYONE romantically. Why? And most importantly, why did you do this? For a game in which a significant part is based on characters and their relationships, this is a very sad situation.

Maybe someone knows codes or loopholes on how to fix this? My first thought was to just walk around the city and edit families in the creator, but the game does not allow editing existing families. My second idea was to populate the city with more diverse characters myself, but it's quite long and I'm afraid that I'll overload the save with characters, which will make the game sag even more. Plus, none of this will fix the problem that random NPCs in the city are still only hetero characters, and I meet random NPCs in the city more often than real families.

I'm also now wondering how the gender/orientation of a character not created in the creator, but born during the game, is determined. Will they all also be hetero by default? Is there no chance to recognize yourself as a non-b person or as a gay?

Yeah, they need to fix this. I thought things were going fine, allegedly my female Zoi was building romance with another female Zoi and as soon as I made a serious move, she litterally ran away...I was like 'huh'. Then it happened again. Like, it's not that hard. Make the Zoi neutral by default and defined by character interactions. I have started popping my own queer NPCs in from the manage family thing. Which is not intuitive and requires a ton of work around. Its dampened my excitement for the game. And I was really enjoying it.

The wild thing is when Youtuber MadMorph played an early early build of the game several months back, he played a woman dating another woman. So how did the programing change so drasitically leading up to release?

It's a bug and will be fixed. From Discord:

regarding the inability to romance same-sex NPCs:
the game is in early access and not everything has been patched yet. it is a known issue and is currently under development for a fix ( https://playinzoi.com/en/news/8432 ). please be patient and give the team some time to work on it so they can offer you the best version of the game possible. however, in the meantime, you can still make your own two same-sex ZOIs and build their relationship! lgbtq+ relationships are accepted in inZOI and always will be 🤍

please do not argue about it in chat. while we love to hear your feedback, this tends to create an unnecessary hostile environment and fights, and we are trying to keep this place welcoming and respectful, with no animosity

Probably because the point is to BREED and create new generations and versions of yourself, Women and Women cannot make babies and Men and Men cannot make babies, makes total sense to me ..... Logical, the way Life was created to be.

Said the trow away Account with 1 Game and a ban on said "one" Game. :steammocking::steammocking::steammocking:
you can create custom zois in the town or people, move them to the hosue and your zoi (as long as that zoi is set to self act, can interact with others based on specified preferences.

They are refining the npc options. and varieties. They in fact support it, and will improve it.

If the devs ain't gonna do it, wait for the modders. Good chances those are in the making.

It has been identified as a bug, so yes equal chance for the heteros and gays to romance NPCs is an intended FEATURE of the game that is broken at the moment.

this probably just need % slider in the simualtions options,...
- As gamer we are spoiled from games like Baldurs gate 3 were every NPC is opne wo anything the player is going for. -

So
- how many % of Zois need to be inheritly gay.?. 20% - 30% ?
- how many % of Zois need to be inheritly bi 10-15%

just making this optional for the player to set before starting a game should solve the problem.

this is a simulation, so it just need parameter to set up.

Sliders is a good idea, then those that want an extreme mix will be happy and those that want normal will be happy.

We're locking this thread as it has devolved into non-productive argument. Thanks for your understanding.
