Overall, is it worth it to get the game now or later? (How does it compare to the sims?)
I have some interest and been following this game for a bit but I'm very on the fence. Especially since the game is early access. Overall, would you say wait on this until its more developed? Any major pit falls you came across? How about building homes, is that more or less the same as the Sims?

If you are on the fence I would say wait. If you just want to hop in and see what's there, just know the $40 isn't quite there yet and expect to play it over time.

Now: You care more about creation than actual gameplay. You want to support the development. Share your creations with others to use. Have a computer actually good enough to run it.

I played all the Sims, and after 2 hours I'm already bored of this one.

just to ask, what about the game is boring after 2 hours? Is it repetitive or what aspect is lacking? Excuse all the questions I'm mainly curious.

I would think that rather depends on how flashy a PC you have to play this on. My own pc is a laptop which just comfortably meets minimum specs and as a result i run on ultra low settings (which still dont look bad btw) and my worst complaint with it is that I cant find other sims until i virtually crash into them. Being able to see zoi's at a greater distance is really needed for even minimum spec users.
There are other faults but this is early access so I expect issues to be all around.

Got it, so not like $40 ready yet. Good to know!

oh good to know so because of the pc needs, the field of view could be lacking? Thats def an issue as if you don;t see people walking around it can make the game look lifeless. I have a mid tier PC. Not like high end Streamer level but I can run witcher and grand theft without any issues so it should be okay in theory.

No def not there yet lol.

The careers are also a bit disappointing.

Youd think with the 100s of successful job simulators out there like TCG card shop, kebab chefs etc etc etc that theyd have taken inspiration from that and not TS4

It's hard to really say. I spent most of my time playing with graphical settings since there's a ton of them and you want the game to run well without looking too terrible. I spent most of my gameplay having my guy go to a park, and it's just awkward getting him to move around, menus feel strange, and it can be a chore getting him to actually do things with others at times.

So whatever gameplay there is, you'll probably find yourself tweaking things and working around issues more than just simply playing.

i'd say wait until it's closer to release.
played extensively last night, there is a few glaring problems which isn't really too bad.

note: when talking with another zoi, the conversation options are spread out like AI and theres nothing really to tell you where to have a small talk option.

Karma system i dont even know how it works or why it's needed just its confusing.

and another odd thing my Zoi she walks perfectly fine then all of a sudden walks like she needs 400 cups of caffeine, even when i walk her myself, i dont know how things work because the game isn't really instructive

oh wow thats for SURE some serious issues. In many early access games I've played post 2020, the menu and tech stuff is usually 95%-99% worked out with a few minor things. Its usually the gameplay roadmap that they focus on. I think I'm def sit this game out for a while and see how it goes. Thanks for the info, cheers!

question: whats the karma system exactly? Is it how it sounds?

That last part, check the season. In summer you need to wear the summer clothes or else you are going to sweat (walk around nauseated) and probably the same for winter. Also if your Zoi gets sick or someone close to you does, you can get pills for that with the first aid kit (in case you are in autumn).

I'll add: In a way I felt rushed because this is the first game in a long time that I bought full price right away, and so the idea of 'refund' has been lingering in my mind since. Wanting to experience something fresh in the Sims world had me go in early

I think that if you're perfectly fine with spending the money, and have a super computer to run it on, and don't have much else going on, I'm sure you'll be able to get enjoyment out of it.
Cazo Mar 28 @ 6:32pm
there's isnt much to do besides "playing dolls", the cities are bassicaly empty
the karma system what i can gleam from the info, basically the player is working for a company and the worse off your karma for any Zoi in your world make ghosts and souls affect future playthroughs... i mean its odd thing i just dont understand it.
