how to manage city karma???
my current save file's city karma is trending overwhelmingly negative and i have no idea what i'm supposed to do about it. it's definitely not related to my zoi's karma, her karma is good. i scold the ones with terrible karma in the karma report menu but i can't figure out what to do beyond that.

There is a way I think you can solve it. Idk for ones that are in the middle ground from bad to good. the ones in Best and Terrible, I can intervene in those. When I did intervene, they got better so I guess that is a way you can manage it. Not 100% but it is working for me rn

What's the actual PURPOSE of this system tho? Is this some sort of Korean culture that just went over everyone's head? It actually feels very off-putting, kinda cult-ish. We need an option to turn it off.

Zois actions should be based on their personality as an internal force, or externally from their life situations and interactions.

The karma will be tied to the occurance of angry ghosts and of course it also represents the collectivist mentality of more Asian countries. YOU matter as part of a community and your actions influence the community. YOU can be the difference between a run down sh*thole and a good place to live.

Make friends, make sure that your legacy is that of a good citizen, teach others the actions that they should take through your actions.

USA's culture is more individualist of "I do what I want and screw the rest", which wouldn't really fly in Asia.

You have to be nice to all the Zois in town, make them do good things and good will happen.
You can also log in on their families and play each of them for a while, that is the easy way.
Deleting them is also away, but deleting them all does not work (I have tried).

yeahhhh that's incredibly tedious and i have no interest in doing that. i just want to play with my own zois lol. i guess i'll just suffer with extremely low karma and "meet the ceo"

Yes, the lower your karma gets, the greater your chance is that you die. Game gets harder and harder. I think the CEO is that cat with the long hair.

this is true, and i definitely don't agree with the person who you replied to saying that it comes off as off-putting and cult-y, but the message of us mattering as part of a community and us being able to make a difference in the world falls flat since your zois *can't* make a difference in the in-game world.

i understand that, in the lore, the player isn't the zoi they control and they're an outside force controlling them and guiding them, but a majority of us don't care about that and we just want to play a life sim. we can't change the overall karma of the city via our zois actions, we can't influence people to be nicer via our zois actions, we would have to manually play every single zoi in the city and make them do positive interactions. that isn't fun. that isn't a natural world. that isn't immersive.

I just went into manage city and moved all the sliders way up to the right like positive karma , city fire prevention , cleanliness and turned the negative karma right down to the left , Now i never get the meow message about karma and last time i looked one had low karma and almost all had the highest karma

i know those sliders exist, but to me i see them as "get out of jail free" cards and i don't want to use them. it doesn't solve the issue (and my issue) with the karma system either and is more like a cheat if anything :(

i don't want every zoi in my city to be a nice angelic person, i just want a realistic balance between good people and bad people. it's ridiculous that the default setting on the sliders result in the entire city slowly but surely turning almost all negative karma

I just went to manage city and reset things like fire safety to the highest , good karma to the highest and negative karma to the lowest and not had the message since , and never bother clicking the intervene as i hate the pointless waiting for it to go through the motion each time you click it
