If it's a life sim in the same essence of Sims 4 (but with different graphical style) I'll assume there is not any real "progression." It's basically a doll house to make stories with the characters you make. Make a family and have them interact. Do a "rags to riches story" starting with basically nothing and then "progress" your Zoi through life until they're rich and have a big house. I suppose you can progress through a career but games of this nature are usually about making your own stories with characters you make with no real end goal aside from what the player decides. I doubt there will be any kind of real simulated economy.
I think I said this in another thread, but I suspect the reason they start us with so much money is so we can test out functions more easily, instead of having to grind money to get a home etc. I'm sure down the line progression will be a bit more challenging and we won't get such a strong start.
And don't forget it's still early access, but if you definitely need a sense of typical game logic then don't buy it.
