inZOI
Earning money
Hey :)

I'm not a fan of the rabbit-hole career options in the Sims and always play with alternative ways of earning money (crafting, gardening, freelancer-options, etc.).

Is there something like that in inZoi as well or are you stuck with just the regular jobs?

Freelancer career appears in the 2025 roadmap in August, not sure quite what it will involve though, currently you can write on the computer and sell books/programs I think...

I really hope making money like that is something our zoi will really have to work at. It's far too easy in the Sims to simply plant a garden of dragon fruit and get insanely rich.
There's art, writing and computer programming and you can sell all of the products. A "good" result is the like half an end-game weekly salary I think.
With poor quality stuff being much less. There's music stuff too but I'm not sure that's sellable.
Thanks a lot for the answers, I'll wait for some more updates before buying the game then :)

Back to Sims 4, I guess :GunfireRebornflower:

I could sell the books I wrote directly in the computer.

I went to a park, found a bunch of artists (painters) there. Waited till they finish their work and left their paintings there and i sold all of them. xD

painting nets some nice little chunks of money per large canvas, i just go into build mode select and delete the painting off the easel and go back into live mode. Though why paintings can't be sold the same way books are when you write them up? i don't really understand that.

thank you , i will try this out
You can write books, create videos (think YouTube), and compose music, at the very least, on your Zoi's computer. I think the high-level stuff pays out to ~2000 meows each, which could potentially be several times what you'd make at one of the more traditional careers.

You can also garden and/or sell stuff secondhand, you can even apparently build a stall outside of your house to sell stuff to passersby, but I haven't really tried that yet.

Most careers in the game are no rabbit holes though, you should know. You can (and generally should except when it becomes tedious due to having a large family) follow them to work and make sure they do tasks and stuff as required. School (surprisingly?) is an exception to this, school seems to be a rabbit hole atm. Might change, idk. It would be kinda neat to be able to follow your young Zoi's to school.

on computer i can code apps that sell reasonably well and enough for a 3 zoi familly, probably other ways planned or already in ^^
