LGB question.

I’m not a fan of “woke” stuff in general, and I don’t think being gay, lesbian, or bi is woke—it’s just something that naturally exists in the real world. That said, as a gay man, it’s a little disappointing that in inZOI, even though NPCs have sexual preferences, I haven’t come across a single gay character in town.

I actually like that not everyone is "free game" romantically—that's how it works in real life, too. But with that in mind, it makes the lack of any visible LGB characters even more noticeable. I’m not expecting a ton of representation, but it’s odd to not see even one.

I don’t mind that the game uses “Partner” instead of “Husband”—no issue there. But is there a way to check or edit NPC sexual preferences? I know this is a little contradictory to my point however I'd like at least one option or can you create gay NPCs and add them into the town? I haven’t figured that out yet.

Also wondering if they’ll eventually add an in-game app or something to the phone where you can meet other LGB characters. In real life, unless you’re in a designated area or community, it’s not exactly easy—apps are what make it more accessible which seems a bit more natural to me.

yes, you can edit the player/family sexual preferences in the CC menu.

there are options that are locked/not available yet. like modifying existing NPCs.

Not gay myself and also very much over all the woke crazy pants stuff but I want to say I very much appreciate your measured and valid question. I think what you say makes sense. Interested in knowing what the answer is as something like that could also apply to anyone in finding other ZOI's with specific interests or likes/dislikes etc.

Totally agree with you. Not everything has to be about pushing an agenda—this was just a genuine, thoughtful question. Would love to see more features that help connect ZOIs based on actual preferences too.

Groups have been radicalizing each other for about as long as we have records in a process anthropologists call "schismogenesis". It gets especially bad when one side wants to literally eradicate the existence of another side, as is the case when it comes to the debate around "woke".

That being said, I'd say the LGBT community is far less radical than the white supremacists they're reacting to.

My negative review of the game comes from simply this:

The world is populated only by straight people, therefore making a lesbian/gay character is pointless if you want organic romance in the world.

I am sure this will be patched soon, but until then the thumb stays down.

Without all the agenda from either side, there is a pinned thread for known issues. This is listed as one of the known issues that is being worked on. I assume later in development, this will be implemented.

Ah I hope so. I would say a easy fix is to make a % slider or something. How much of the population do you want Straight, Gay, Lesbian or Bi.

As a workaround you can go to the map, create a family and on the left side gender selection there is a little icon, click it, there you can select what genders the person is interested in. then you let them move into into the neighborhood and have at least some people who can be into your char.
