I have found that raising the timescale to 4 or 24 hours balances it out a bit, as you tend to spend more money per day.
I've played every sims game since TS1.
You start rich in Inzoi and can buy/build anything, so there's no need to make more money. The job system doesn't quite make sense either.
So a game for female gamers and for those who like throwing digital tea parties. I don't mean that be insulting. That is just what the Sims now is which is why so many DLCs are just cosmetic packs as there aren't many male players to appeal to
There are a couple of interesting decorations available.
A stack of money costs 50K.
A stack of gold costs 100K.
As we don't have a way to remove money off ourselves, I would suggest getting the cheapest apartment, getting back up to 50K, and then buying the decoration to remove it. Then you'll play with a more challenging set up.
