Feels empty?
Is it just me, or does inZOI feel a bit empty and soulless? Watching streams and videos, it seems like it lacks personality compared to The Sims. It looks fun and visually impressive, but something about it feels lifeless, like there’s no real depth to the characters or world.

edit: I'm not hating on the game, and I'm definitely not talking about Sims 4, this is just my first impression.

I get the appeal of the features but for me it’s more about the overall feeling. The game looks good but the vibe doesn’t hit the same as the older Sims. It just feels a bit dull from watching it, like PlayStation Home, lots of customization but not much personality behind it

Go play the sims then :sakurabeachmomokolaugh:
It does feel a little empty. Not anymore than the sims though. I think this games gameplay style is a little slower with progression though. In the sims I can meet someone, fall in love, get married, get pregnant. All in under an hour. This game does not seem to allow for that, forcing it be more organic

Yeah, because having a first impression on a game now requires ownership. Guess nobody can ever discuss movies they haven’t watched or critique trailers either. Flawless logic.

To be fair it is early access, You can't expect a full launch experience right away. Will probably take a few years to get to that stage.

I mean, yes?

Why take the energy and complain about something instead of just doing something that makes you happy?

OP comparing a decades old game with a bunch of dlcs and updates to an early access game. :yella_laughing:
Games only just come out in EA. So it's bound to not be complete. You know what to expect when getting an EA.

OP is asking a genuine question. There's no need for salty responses like that.

If you played it, does it feel empty or lifeless?

Why or why not?

If the best you can say is "go play The Sims then" you haven't helped show why this game is good.

I was surprised by how much things does your singular trait influence, as it clearly lists it in character creator (it gives likes, dislikes, bonuses to certain abilities, influences need decay and how your zoi interacts with other zois).

I am also quite enjoying their ambitions system that is more of like a way to live your life and what you're striving for.

In general I've been vibing. "Visit the temple, wish for good luck, chat up some people", "visit the game cafe, play on computer, socialize a bit", "visit the coffee shop, invite my crush over, have a good time flirting and drinking coffee".

It never felt empty, the streets have zois on them, there are street musicians, the cars are flowing, there are things to do, but it is chill. It doesn't feel like your average mega-drama game.

Then again my neighbourhood is set to medium and not apocalyptic, so I suppose I could create the drama if I wanted, but I don't, I just want to chill lol.

So, honestly, I'm happy, but different people will want different things and that's alright. That's why having a lot of different games is great!

I tried my best to answer honestly. I hope it helps!

Yep it's early access, so you can expect it to feel less than polished or 'empty'.

There's a roadmap that says what's being added as part of early access:
