Substance map is a term specifically used in Adobe's Substance Designer that uses a technique called Substance Material AI or Procedural Material AI. It uses photogrammetry to generate realistic and stylized textures for 3D models and environments.
This is directly referenced in the Adobe site for Substance 3D software but is also used in less prominent software such as Midjourney.
This is a lesser known function of AI so most people that don't use Adobe Substance Designer or Midjourney don't know it's a thing. So yeah, it's actually an industry term for a specific sub-class of AI generation systems.
I am also guessing that in future update you'll be able to conversation with NPC's in game. Seems a coming soon feature but i noticed when an NPC texts you right now you can only choose from pregenerated responses, there is a text box you can type in but you can't send anything yet, i am betting they are working on getting their own LLM model trained on their own data to enable this feature in the future, which is pretty cool. I always thought adding AI to a game in this way can enhance it and this is perfect type of game for it in a sandbox like this, gone will be the days where game talks for you and you can actually choose what to say in your own words and get interesting responses. I hope that they have sort of a "character card" where each NPC has a bunch of data if refers to on it's life, personality, likes, dislikes, so chatting with each NPC will provide a unique response based on it's life in the game and everything. Only thing that likely will make this hard to do it getting a small enough LLM model that people can run on a variety of hardware along side the game so it must use very little vram while still producing good responses and honstly a lot of the 1b-2b models out there are absolutely terrible, so hopefully they can pull it off, or it may only be for high end cards that can use that feature.
Finally, something using AI in a fun way, within a playable medium. Heck yeah!
Players can generate unique textures for character outfits and various items based on text input. They can also create 3D objects from image input, which can be used as interior decorations or accessories, and add distinctive motions to their Zoi using video input. Additionally, the actions and thoughts of Zois are controlled through sLM technology, enabling more engaging and intuitive interactions.

Chatgpt eh ? Unfortunately you are still wrong.
We called the texture slapped on any 3D mesh , material maps. That's the general term , theres no map that is specific only to Adobe Substance , any other program can also be used to create material maps , including photoshop. So what ? You are going to call those photoshop maps ?
The only reason I brought Substance up is because it has a very similar AI function to the one in this game , where it can generate textures for objects with AI .
And no, I was talking about substance painter, not substance designer. The fact that you got both of them mixed up show you are just as clueless as the OP. Designer is completely irrelevant in this case as it is used to create the mesh itself .
Substance's AI maps have existed for more than a decade before amateurs like you and the OP insist on trolling .
just trust me"
