The demo is just build mode and the character creator. Thats probably what you have. The game itself isn't out yet, but early access opens up to the public in about 9ish hours from the time of this reply, and that will have gameplay

Currently just the build/buy mode and create a zoi studio as it's a demo. Later today the full game (Early Access so maybe not "FULL") comes out.

You are using the demo, it is not the game.

You can purchase then play the game in 9 hours

Don’t forget it is an EA, so there will be bugs and missing features. In time they will fix the bugs and add more features inkl. new bugs but this is a normal process.
