As an example, I've created 2 ZOIs so far and they both do slightly different things, but it's very limited and repetitive.
There's so much they could do autonomously, especially with AI, but this is very disappointing. I too like the idea of just watching them and only intervening when something goes wrong. I'm not interested in watching this as it is though. A lot of room for improvement I'd say. How much longer is that gonna take I wonder.
I've seen Rimworld advertised on here before and I didn't think it looked like my sort of game, but maybe it is from what you're saying, so I should check it out.
I've just been on Reddit and tried to post this:
"When I play The Sims 4 I'd like to mainly just sit and watch what they do and only intervene when something goes wrong. This is unfortunately quite boring though because the autonomy is limited and repetitive. With inZOI in my humble opinion after playing for about 10 hours the autonomy is the same but more boring. For example they'll stand or sit on their own not doing anything for quite a long time and when they do something it's one of very few things over and over again while never going outside or hardly ever.
Then there's Nvidia's RTX AI powering the so-called Smart ZOIs but there's really hardly any difference if it's switched on or off. I also tried the AI generated emotes by importing a picture or video but it's so strict that most of the time it just refused to do it and even when it did work the result looked very awkward.
There's so much that ZOIs could do with decent autonomy especially with AI as well but it seems to play it safe so much that it's simply boring.
This game has had a lot of hype and I was really looking forward to it for quite a while but the autonomy and AI spoil it for me. I think the character studio and build mode are great but they were available before the early access release which is probably why I was looking forward to it so much. I understand it's early access though and I shouldn't expect too much but I wonder how long it's gonna take to properly realise it's true potential."
Similar to what I said on here but one of the inZOI moderators deleted it straight away. Then I asked why they don't like criticism or any mention of a rival life simulator and they deleted that as well. It may well have been something that's been said before, but they're far too precious and controlling, on Reddit at least. I don't like it much anyway and have just deleted my account. I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight I'm sure.
Edit: I played it for a bit again. Very frustrating. Roll on The Sims: Project Rene!
