Regarding $40 price tag vs. The Sims 4
The Sims has spent years building up a reputation.

It has the reputation of becoming an increasingly lazy and lacking game due to basically zero competition, and with the help of trusty Andrew "Dynamic Ad Insertion" Wilson milks its player base for every single penny they're worth. Many even felt that The Sims 4 was a big step back from The Sims 3.

Currently there's $898.88 worth of DLC on the Steam store for Sims 4, and that's with a lot of it being on sale and in some cases even free. The Sims 4 was also $40 at launch. It's free now, with the exception of all that DLC.

Frankly I think the modding community probably helps keep The Sims 4 alive more than EA does.

InZOI is $40 now, and the price will go up when it hits 1.0. In part, people are buying this because as another user suggested, they want a good competitor to The Sims. And this has the potential of being that. Competition is good. Seriously, what other options are out there for people besides The Sims? Life by You was canceled. There's a couple other upcoming options out there that could be ok, but there's really nothing else available right now.

So buying in early access gets you a reduced price, plus you get to play as they introduce features, and help provide feedback. And seeing as how the game isn't even out yet and they've already listened to feedback by removing Denuvo, I have some confidence in them. This is also just frankly far more visually appealing than The Sims 4 which is ELEVEN years old now.

While I do play an EA game from time to time, I find them to be an awful company. EA was voted Worst Company in America two years in a row by Consumerist, and named 5th most hated company in the US by USA Today for a reason. So I'll absolutely jump at the chance to throw $40 at a promising, beautiful looking competitor over supporting The SIms 4.

Might be a hot take but in my opinion Sims4 is the most pirated game ever. Just imagine spending $800 on a game
AnonTwo 26 de mar. às 18:41
Honestly if you think 40$ is a lot you probably pirated the entire sims series. They've always sold the base games at AAA price, and made you buy like 4-5 expansion packs to actually feature complete it. You'd be lucky if you made it out less than 200$

It's only low now because it's old, and most people weren't patient gamers about them.

I would not be surprised in the slightest.
AnonTwo 26 de mar. às 19:13
So why choose one or the other? When you can look at the positives and just play both?

I mean, as someone who is probably older than you since I've actually grown up with and played all the sims games, it's because i've probably spends hundreds of dollars on The Sims,

pirated it multiple times because I literally would not have been able to afford it at various times of my life, even getting a C&D when I was too young to know better.

And had to deal with all the quirks of the series for better or worse. And that includes Seeing Sims 4 be released with fewer features than sims 3 was released with

While Sims as a game has been good, I stand with him that EA as a company has not been good in return. And if we're going to talk like mature consumers and not just as gamers, then yes, we need to talk about the company.

Sim 4 is long overdue for competition wise i kinda wished the small percentage of folks doing sim modding made their game engine and just make a good game.

yeah is good thing they made they need something to replace sims franchise at least in a way to compete in the genre. suprised with the tech we have now not other companies are making potential money making success.

Why would you assume you're older than a 64 year old?

Judging by your statement aswell. You too seem to come across as someone who has this hatred towards EA. Again, that's your opinion and your life.

I spend my life travelling. Enjoying all views of life. Perhaps I don't take life seriously and enjoy alot kore aspects than you do.

If you're looking at that $900. Hey. If you can't afford $90 per year, since the sims 4 released. That's unfortunate.

But $90 a year. For a game you'll enjoy for countless hours? That's a bargain.

I mean now you just sound like you're so uninvolved in the subject it doesn't have any bearing for you. 90$ for countless hours sounds tone deaf....

Ultimately, my point was throwing your age around like weight is silly. Especially given your own examples show that age didn't even involve gaining experience in this subject.

sole reason ppl like ur opinion encourage Ea to continue on with bad stuff. But like I care if u support a company that overcharges for dlc, its ur money lamo. Couldn't care if its drug, or alcohol or smoking, same thing warning no cares meh.

These posts highlight the immaturity of alot of consumers these days.

I'll be alot older than all of you.

If thinking EA is a bad company, that The Sims as a series has become lazy and greedy, and that a good competitor is needed and deserves support is immature then count me in.

Not particularly interested in what you have to say when your first two points are:

You're immature

And

I'm older than all of you

Yeah thanks for the conversation but you're just going off topic.

If you really can't afford $90 for something you'll enjoy for over 10 years. You really haven't achieved much in life.

Shame for you unfortunately.

You also seem to be taking a personal dislike for me, because I said "enjoy both Games".

Maybe you need to speak to a few friends about your dislike for EA?

Not sure. But you come across as someone I'd rather not speak to.

Cya ✅️

I agree, I wouldn't want to speak to you either.

A person who feigns maturity while wanting others to take a short stick for something he has no stakes in is not a person i'd want to listen to.

Anyways...

Same. Though there is one or two more being developed now (not counting the canceled Life by You).

EA knows manu of Sims player have dates and not powerful rigs, TS4 runs on integrated graphics and looks good.
This one requires a good PC so most of the market is closed.

If you think that this company will not release myriad of DLCs you are naive at best.
Cities Skylines was the savior for EA haters but CO/Paradox police is way way worse (their DLCs content is a joke) and CS2 is a disaster (worse than any EA Sims or Simcity launch).

I'm sure they'll release plenty of DLC for this game.

40$ is very reasonable. I was expecting it to be AAA price like 60 or 70$
