If you were not aware, Intel 13th and 14th gen were defective. And Intel didn't bother to issue a recall, they just hope people don't notice. But they extended the warranty for everyone that did notice.
The only way to prevent the degeneration without the BIOS update is to, counter-intuitively, run your CPU in a state of overheating all the time so it downvolts itself out of the danger range.
This is literally the only game I've had any issues with so I don't think that's the problem thankfully. And I finally got it working when I ran the game as an administrator.
