We plan to provide an offline mode at Early Access in the future . (Online connection is required to use Canvas.)"

"Launcher of the game is bound to Steam and the Canvas system along with it so network connection is required for the time being
Once the app is up & running, you can go offline and play (but you won't be able to use Canvas since it is a web service)
The dev team will work on full offline play mode post-launch, timeline is not set yet "

If this is always online game yeah I think I will be waiting for an offline mode if there isn't one I will stick with the Sims I don't like always online games especially if the focus is single player it defeats the purpose ever being single player as a whole.

No they don't cuz let me give you a couple examples that don't be online to be played there are single player Spider-Man all three of them Batman all of them, American truck simulator and Euro truck simulator, command and conquer, the entire Total war series Left 4 Dead days gone, we can play those without needing online as long as it's a single player.

So inZOI saying it needs online is completely untrue and I mean I can give plenty more.

I mean I'm not going to lie if they try to push online DRM for a single player game that's going to probably steer people away cuz online DRM for a single player game is unreal and wild when that should have stopped the years ago for single-player games.

You need a brief connection to launch the game in steam, then you can go into offline once it does the steam verification and launches.

To use certain AI features and Canvas you need an active connection.
