Dowon or Bliss Bay? (Why are people on YT "obsessed" with Bliss Bay?)
I do find it somewhat strange, that a good 90% of YouTubers, that already have access to the game, are showing us footage of their gameplay in Bliss Bay.

I mean, we finally have a game, that looks decent / promising and offers us a world, that's not modelled after the type of society and environment most of us live in (aka "Western World") - and yet, the vast majority seems to be ignoring Dowon.

I do understand the appeal of something feeling familiar or being "more at home" in a certain environment, but it's a video game. You're not actually going to move there. I have zero interest in exploring Bliss Bay once the game's released. I've known, that I'll roam around Dowon, ever since it was announced, that these will be our two choices during the initial phase of EA.
Why would I stick to a vibe and environment that's been explored far too many times already? If I can experience something new and exciting, that's obviously what I'm going for. Are there performance issues in Dowon? (from what I can tell, it does appear to be larger)

The whole "become a K-Pop idol" career thing is basically the kind of content YT normally craves. And it does appear, like that job is only available in Dowon. I seriously don't get, why so many people are focusing on Bliss Bay.

South Koreans on a South Korean game will only appeal to South Korea, in the same way Americans in an American game will only appear to America. Marketing and what appeals most to the customer.

It's very likely most of the Streamers are American and as such will gravitate towards Bliss Bay by default. It appeals most to American customers. That's probably the reason Bliss Bay was included along with Dowon when the game is launched into Early Access, because Krafton wants to tap the American market and make sure there is something very familiar they can play.

That would beg the question, why an awful lot of Americans are mad at Ubisoft for not giving them the feudal Japan experience they were hoping for. I haven't seen anyone complaining about that game not being set in southern Florida and featuring a gator sidekick.

And while I'm personally not that into it, K-Pop has become such a big deal in the last decade and interest in South Korea in general, has grown along with it. That would also allow streamers to appeal to an audience of significant size.

Assassin's Creed games are set in the past, and there have been games set in America, or at least the lead up to the war of independence and subsequent new nation and during more recent times with Desmond Miles. so it's not like there hasn't been some identification with America at some point, it's just the Focus is on the battle between groups and the alluded precursor species that created them.

Ubisoft is also French and have studios in other countries as well, but since Europeans are generally more open to other cultures, values and stories, focusing exclusively on France isn't needed.

Sim life games are a different thing, since you are focused on building the life others and identification is important.

I think it's just because they had played in the other city already (last time they got access) so they are trying the new one out.
Dowon is a better map in my opinion Bliss Bay is the usual generic California city we already have seen in GTAs and million of other games im more interested in the unreleased map it looks really cool from the teasers.
Its a game. Lets just play any map we want to and let the player decide. I will play both.
go figure americans like to play in US city and koreans in a korean city
