Again that modding kit will ONLY allow for game object asset modding, per their tos modding is limited to:
" to costumes, furniture, skins, characters, and other materials and features provided within the Game Service ("Basic Content").
Certain content provided by the Company includes elements that you are not permitted to modify or alter at your discretion (“Non-Modifiable Content”). You are prohibited from making any modifications, whether in whole or in part, to such content."
since the modding tools mentioned for the modding kit are SPECIFICALLY referring to 3d modelling tools, people should not expect gameplay mods.
For NO other reason but to prevent legal issues for Krafton, again if their game is considered to facilitate content or gameplay that goes against korean law than they are at fault.
Right and LEGALLY speaking it breaks their TOS. Krafton HAS and will go after patreon accounts that create content that goes against their tos - they dont have to sue or legally threaten the creator - they legally threaten Patreon as they have done before.
Pateon will in turn suspend the offending creator or account. Krafton has done this in the past with mods break PubG TOS.
Again this is what i mean - players aren't ready for this.
At worst what we are about to see is the game eventually require online connection only and not allow you to launch the game if it detects unauthorized mods.
Modders find a way.
Well I think the problem is people dont realize that a mod that allows nudity or wickedwhims behavior is legally threatening to Krafton. They can get in serious trouble in korea and will be prosecuted by Federal government if t hey are found to have made a product that facilitates sex or nudity.
I dont think people are even aware of korean laws in this sense.
Ya my concern is that Krafton sees that modding Or trying to control gameplay mods is too expensive or too demanding, so they go for the easy solution and simply implement anti-cheating measures to ban mods.
The game uses the unreal 5 engine, which actually has built in tools for in-game anti-modding, almost like anti-cheat tools.
I mean they might already have incorporated them.
I'm also not saying these mods won't exist, but i dont think the community is ready for kraftons reactions...
Whatever tools Krafton use to detect mods that directly interface and interfere with the service won't see the script because it doesn't interfere with the service and because it's 3rd party and not connected to the game in any direct way, it will go on unnoticed, any mods connected to that script will also go on unnoticed.
What I mean is that any law has certain lengths to which they work. Meaning Krafton can't legally allow such mods, but they would not be deemed guilty if 3rd party servers hosts DLL modifications that does not care and allows bypasses.
and ironically AI as well.
I totally agree, though I'm not sure how the new unreal anti-mod tools work since they are baked into the engine. I'm not sure if they are easy to bypass with like a third party script tool or if its so hard coded that you simply can't.
Really i think in the end it will be defined by how Krafton responds to these mods...
