Undisclosed use of Denuvo Anti-Tamper (Update: devs reacted)
Update: The developers announced that they changed their plans and that Inzoi will not use Denuvo. Here's a link to the announcement: https://steamcommunity.com/games/2456740/announcements/detail/512953841353752634?snr=2___

According to the IP it's trying to connect to, srv01.codefusion.technology, the Demo (Character Creation) uses Denuvo undisclosed.

According to EU legislation, California under AB 2426, and other various countries: disclosure of encryption methods and interoperability issues in advance are a legal requirement.

Great. For now will keep the game in watchlist for at least 2 weeks after release - to understand if the real game has or has no Denuvo... I have strong No-Denuvo requirement for any game.
Feel free to follow this curator: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/26095454/
We will have an announcement up for the full game as soon as we can check the files.

Transparency is good for everyone on the long term - including the devs.
(Thanks a lot for the points people but keep them to buy yourself something nice)

now that's a good rebound response. kudos.
Edit: You aren't getting away from the smarty pants award that easily.

Pirates have big backlogs , and they are patient. They can wait even years until the game is denuvoless if they have to. Denuvo costs money, at some point it costs more than the game generates money and will be dropped, that day the pirates swoop in, thats like happening allways. Think of it as pirates see a release date and add a +2 years in their head, gives the advantage that the game will be patched up and running smooth (maybe)

In the meantime they play other games, I mostly buy on GoG , dont like overlays like steam

Well support escalated my ticket for now only with this:

Hello Creator,

Thank you for reaching out to inZOI Support.

Please be informed that we have escalated your concern to the relevant department for further checking. We will update you once we have an update for it.

Let us know if you have any questions! We’d be happy to assist you further!

Sincerely,
inZOI Support
Noting that it also means that human had read the message.. In addition I added this:

In addition a note:
That EU's GDPR regulation requires all companies that do business with citizens of European Union member states to disclose the usage of personal data (which does include online identifier). Failure to do so is considered also as Personal Data Breach - as the data was not processed in the manner it was disclosed. For which the undisclosed usage of Denuvo counts - as you sent information to their servers without disclosure of doing so.
And yes. EU's GDPR also applies to companies based outside of the EU for as long as service is provided to EU's citizens.
AssassinLV Mar 24 @ 10:15pm
And sorry - this might in worse case push-back the release date a few days - as they have to verify on whether their disclosures are in level of GPDR or not (spoiler alert - they're not) before releasing the game and update disclosures accordingly.... And also unless mistaken - publicly disclose Personal Data Breach due to this...

Also newer reply after I added that additional info:
Hello Creator,

We understand your concern and rest assured that we have informed the relevant department regarding this matter. We will get back to you once we have an update for it.

We appreciate your patience while we look into this. Let us know if you have any other enquiries—we’re happy to assist!

Sincerely,
inZOI Support

Actually, no - pirates aren’t going to buy the game anyway, with or without denuvo.

Many of us who complain about denuvo do so for a reason. Some of the main issues include: reduced performance, the inability to play fully offline (for example, on a Steam Deck while out in the mountains or anywhere else), the fact that it essentially functions as a rootkit on your computer, and problems with denuvo itself (there have been multiple reports of players getting locked out of their game for 24 hours due to a bug). And that’s not even all of it. Considering how much we’re paying for these games, these issues are no small matter.

Yup, 8 years ago I was the "Yarr yarr boy" too, also I was a student... So no disposable income... Although now got around 400+ purchassed games... But game with Denuvo is still not for me - so awaiting on Krafton response in these matters as well as grace period after release to see if this game is actually worth my time and money... And the modding part of this game is a soft-no... although that's another topic entirely...
this is a problem imo... Tho inzoi is a cool game... this made me relize the publishers arent on your side nor were they. like can they allmost sneak allmost anything and not disclose it? thats the scary part. not a eu or us company (so btw thoose laws dont apply) so they can just sneak anything they want in your game right under your nose? the only reason why people found out this game had denevo in it was due to the HUGE exe size and all the huge amount of file propities you can see in the exe in 7zip. and also the size. and the timedfunctions.txt you see ALOT of encryptions and cheecksums taking place. but anything can be sneaked into the game if a more subtile approch was taken. EDIT: the exe is still 381mb

Just a note here because I've seen stated several times that companies from foreign countries can just ignore laws outside of their own: Publishers have to respect the laws of the countries they want to sell in. The European Commission has no qualms issuing fines in the billions to companies such as Google or Apple.

Well Denuvo (if it's true) in inzoi it's a bad news tbh. That’s disappointing. I was really looking forward to buying this game.
Small fun note - if they release the game, and still does not disclose the Denuvo - Then I might actually write official complaint of "Personal Data Breach" by not disclusing the usage of the Denuvo.. So I might purchase the game day 1 - if Denuvo is not listed just to check if it has one... If it will have one - well then.. - will use my EU rights (and do refund) :)

This game's a mess before it even drops.
[y]es it is.
I know - for now waiting Krafton support response and release date - if by then they still don't do anything and still include it in the game - I will then report the data breach.

And I wrote this for the support in addition too now:
Also additional note.
If the final version of the game includes Denuvo without disclosure - I will create video proof of the Personal Data Breach, and send the personal data breach notice to the EU with all the proof I can make. And ofcourse refund the game after doing just that. In addition you will still have to follow up the GDPR on how quickly you have to publicly disclose the fact of Personal Data Breach and do so as per GDPR requirements.
Please ignore anything that seems illogical - it's evening where I live, had a work day and my brains unlike inZOI are already offline 😂😂😂

I followed the link and it's still there.
The tread is there - but OP part of the post is not.
